W Train & Defend is about the ability to train confidently and effectively defend. The W Train & Defend system is a straightforward solution for new shooters interested in training to become more proficient with their personal defense ammunition. This ballistically-matched ammunition pairs range-ready TRAIN (T) rounds with threat-stopping, technologically-driven DEFEND (D) rounds, each designed for less felt recoil. With the growing number of ammunition choices at the retail counter confronting first-time gun owners, Winchester Ammunition has created the new W Train & Defend brand to streamline the process of choosing training and personal defense ammunition. The Train rounds of the W Train & Defend system are identified with a prominent T on the package. Winchester developed these training loads not only with reduced recoil characteristics but lead-free primers for improved indoor range acceptance. Packaged in 50-count boxes, the Train offerings are also distinguishable from their Defend counterparts with brass shellcases and full metal jacket bullets. SHOT-LOK TECHNOLOGY
Long Beard XR includes the new Shot-Lok Technologya hardened resin that completely encapsulates the lead pellets. Shot-Lok actually eliminates air space around the pellets, preventing movement, which ultimately leads to virtually no pellet deformation. Upon firing, the resin fractures, forming a micro-buffer as the shot pattern leaves the gun barrel. Meanwhile, the pellets remain round and fly straighter and tighter resulting in highly consistent payloads and devastating knockdown at longer ranges.

Legendary innovation continues with the AA TrAAcker shotshells, as Winchester expands the line with offerings in 20 gauge and also in 12 gauge for sporting clays shooters. Winchester AA TrAAcker is the first game and target load to feature a weighted wad that actually tracks with the shot cloud. This allows the instructor to quickly determine where the shooter is missingmaking it easy to adjust and hit flying targets on similar subsequent shots. The secret of AA TrAAcker is in the revolutionary wad. Loaded with 118 ounces of shot in 12 gauge and 78 ounces of shot in 20 gauge like a standard AA shotshell, the innovative wad design includes longer, notched petals, and captures 18 ounce of shot, which stabilizes wad spin and ensures that the wad remains in the center of the shot cloud for optimum tracking. Winchester first launched its Defender line of personal defense ammunition five years ago, providing responsible citizens with the most reliable ammunition to protect their homes and families. The Winchester Defender segmenting slug combines all of the advantages of a slug and buckshot, while eliminating the need for two different rounds.
