In the panel discussion Why Art Matters, three distinguished books include a biography of Patrick White and last year
art lovers talk about why art is important to them. an account of the Bill Henson panic.

Peter Fay is a passionate collector of Australian art. In 2008, Dr Gene Sherman became Executive Director
He taught English for many years and has curated of Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation after 21 years
several significant exhibitions for Monash University, as Director of Sherman Galleries. She has a specialised
Campbelltown Art Centre and Sydney University. Fay is knowledge of art, literary theory and French and English
currently working on an exhibition that will be a visual literature. Sherman is currently on the Board of the
