WFIY SYLVANIA'S LIFELINE LAlUlP THE GREATEST "EXTRA VALUE" IN F

7A% LOI{GER LIFE
First of all, Sylvania Lifeline l-luorescents give you 9000 hours of rated average life. That's 1500 hours more than the average of 7500 hour fluorescents. It means you can count on almost 4 years of lighting service, burning 5t) hours a week. It means a 20t/" longer periocl before you need to buy new lamps. In other words, yet get a 20o/. return on your initial lamp investment - plus a 20J'i return on the labor cost of lamp replacement.

they actually consume less - but In the case of the 40-watt Lifeline,

conservatively 1.2 watts less. Over the Lifeline's 9000 hours of rated average life - this lower power consumption results in still further lighting economy. In fact, it can amount to an actual wattage saving of.3/o per lamp.

.."ANOTHER EXTRA VALUE WORTH

$3

...AN EXTRA VALUE

WCRTH $740*
It's easy to place a definite dollar value on the Lifelines' longer life. Assume a labor cost of $1.00 (including overhead) for the 20 minutes it takes to individually replace one lamp plus a lamp cost of 85( (at 35lo discount) on a 40 watt lamp - and you get $1.85. Multiply this by l/lth to find the actual value of the Lifeline's l/ith exta life-and you get 37( per lamp - or $740 on 2000 lamps in a 1000fixture installation.

00-400*

3% LOWER POWER COST

Sylvania Lifeline fluorescents not only deliver higher sustained light output than competitive

You can also translate this lower power cost into actual dollar value. Take 31" of 40 watts and you get 1.2 watts. Multiply this by the life of the lamp - 9000 hours - and you get 10.8 KWH less power over the rated average life. Based on an average industrial rate of l.5Q per kilowatt hour and a 3-hour cycle of lamp operation, the wattage saving is 16l per 40watt lamp - or $320 on 2000 4O-watt lamps in a typical 100O-fixture installation. Based on longer burning cycles the savings would be appreciably greater over the life of the lamp. The amount would vary, of course, with the particular Lifeline Lamp involved. For example, in the case of an S-foot Lifeline Slimline Lamp, the wattage saving would come to 20f per lamp - or $400 on 2000 lamps in a typical I 000-fixture installation.

HIGHER SUSTAINED LIGHT OUTPUT

Light output of all Sylvania Lifeline lamps has been boosted tr,vo ways. They deliver more light initially - and contintre to cleliver more light throughout life. For example, initial rating (after 100 hours of burning) of 40 watt Cool White Lifelines is 3100 lumens - and in White and Warm White, 3200 lumens. When you buy lamps it's more important to look for a higher sustained light output than a higher initial output - which may
be drastically reducecl over the life of the lamp. Sylvania was the

new Lifeline lamps have a built-in sustained light output and this provides an appreciable increase in lumen hours over other fluorescents. For example, the 40-watt Cool White Lifeline carries a rating of 2800 lumens at 3600 hours (40fo of rated Lifeline life) - an increase of 4 million lumen

GROUP RELAMPING PLAN
Another \'vay to make n'orthl'hile savings on your Total Cost of Lighting is to use the efficient modern method of replacing all lamps at once usually at 85To of rated life. With Sylvania's Group Relamping Plan, you
systematically replace

all the lamps at the salne time - just before tl-rey

start to burn out rvith increasine frequency, cuttins' replacemcnt time to

only 3 minutes per larnp or a cost of only about

l5l

per lamp.

Tlrrough Group Relamping, you make rvorthivhile savings on labor, dte largest single item of lighting maintenance, because it costs much less to replace all lamps at once than each lamp one-at-a-time as it burns out. With Lifeline lamps you save still more because you need to Group Relamp l/5 less often. And Caddy-Pack's many maintenance features
make Group Relamping go faster tl'ran ever.
