INFLAMMATION
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Inflammation is not just related to painful joints. Inflammation is the major factor driving the aging process. Inflammation underlies all major degenerative diseases. Cardiovascular inflammation leads to calcification / blockage. Cancer metastasis is an inflammatory process. Cancer recruitment of stem cells is an inflammatory process. Schizophrenia and psychosis is an inflammatory process.
Inflammation seems to underlie not just senescence but all the chronic illnesses that often come along with it: diabetes, atherosclerosis, Alzheimers, heart attack. Inflammatory factors predict virtually all bad outcomes in humans. It predicts having heart attacks, having heart failure, becoming diabetic; predicts becoming fragile in old age; predicts cognitive function decline, even cancer to a certain extent. Russell Tracy, a professor University of Vermont College of Medicine.

The notion that inflammation plays a central role in heart disease is relatively new, although we've long known that CRP
levels go up to signal any type of inflammation. So far, no one knows exactly what contributes to the inflammation that might trigger or worsen heart disease.

Asthma is a common problem in children nearly 10% now have it and the number is increasing..This is an important subject, since using the medicines correctly is the best way to keep your child out of breathing trouble.
According to the World Health Organization::approximately 235 million people are currently suffering from asthma and it is considered the most common chronic disease in children.
Why medicate to suppress the symptoms when you can correct the imbalances and offer a safe and effective anti-inflammatory food?
Inflammation clearly occurs in pathologically vulnerable regions of the Alzheimer's disease (AD) brain, and it does so with the full complexity of local peripheral inflammatory responses. In the periphery, degenerating tissue and the deposition of highly insoluble abnormal materials are classical stimulants of inflammation.
approaches that may not cure AD but will likely help slow the progression or delay the onset of this devastating disorder.

These findings begin to create a vision of rational adjunctive anti-inflammatory therapy to quench the fire in schizophrenia.
So Depression is an Inflammatory disease, but where does the Inflammation come from?
We now know that depression is associated with a chronic, low-grade inflammatory response and activation of cell-mediated immunity, as well as activation of the compensatory anti-inflammatory reflex system. The identification of known sources of inflammation provides support for inflammation as a mediating pathway to both risk and neuroprogression in depressionMost, but not all, of the above mentioned sources of
inflammation may play a role in other psychiatric disorders, such as 1) bipolar disorder, 2) schizophrenia, 3) autism and 4) post-traumatic stress disorder.

Aging is not the simple result of the passage of time. According to a provocative new view, it is actually something our own bodies create, a side effect of the essential inflammatory system that protects us against infectious disease.

Inflammaging
Modern society has been characterized by a growing proportion of elderly citizens. Coupled with this increase has been a huge increase in the incidence of chronic diseases associated with the elderly. There is growing evidence that the immune system is implicated in virtually all of these age related illnesses, with the inflammatory response being the triggering mechanism that leads to agerelated tissue damage. Indeed, the term inflammaging has been coined to describe the underlying inflammatory changes common to most age-related diseases.

Studies have found that grape seed extracts may prevent the growth of breast, stomach, colon, prostate, and lung cancer cells in test tubes. However, there is no clear evidence yet whether it works in humans. Antioxidants, such as those found in grape seed extract, are thought to reduce the risk of developing cancer. Grape seed extract may also help prevent damage to human liver cells caused by chemotherapy medications

About Resveratrol
The use of Polygonatum verticillatum in the treatment of diabetes was first observed in 1930 by Hedwig Langecker. Benefit probably due to its glucokinin content. P. verticillatum is used in Ayurveda as an and weakness.
aphrodisiac.
Pterostilbene is a stilbenoid chemically related to resveratrol and is found in blueberries and grapes. It belongs to the group of phytoalexins, agents produced by plants to fight infections.
Based on animal studies it is thought to exhibit anti-cancer, the ability to fight off and reverse cognitive decline.

About D-Ribose
- is a 5 carbon sugar produced by the body for energy. - improves mood - improves athletic performance (boosts muscle energy). - improves symptoms of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and coronary artery disease. - prevents symptoms of cramping, pain, stiffness - lowers blood sugar (therefore SOUL needs cane sugar)
About Xylitol
- Xylitol is a 5 carbon sugar alcohol used as a sugar substitute - Xylitol uses as a was first produced from birch trees in Finland - Xylitol was mass produced in the United States from beet sugar or corn. - Xylitol does NOT raise blood sugar - Xylitol is safe for use by diabetics - Xylitol reduces dental cavities caused by bacteria strept mutans - Xylitol can kill pathological yeast (Candida Albicans) - Xylitol can cause mild diarrhea

Thymoquinone is an active ingredient isolated from Nigella sativa and has been investigated for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities in both in vitro and in vivo models since its first extraction in 1960s. Its anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory effect has been reported in various disease models, including encephalomyelitis, diabetes, asthma and carcinogenesis. The anticancer effect(s) of thymoquinone are mediated through different modes of action, including anti-proliferation, apoptosis induction, cell cycle arrest, ROS generation and antimetastasis/anti-angiogenesis. In addition, this quinone was found to exhibit anticancer activity through
the modulation of multiple molecular targets, including p53, p73, PTEN, activation of caspases and generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
STAT3, PPAR-1,
The anti-tumor effects of thymoquinone have also been investigated in tumor xenograft mice models for colon, prostate, pancreatic and lung cancer.
The combination of thymoquinone and conventional chemotherapeutic drugs could produce greater therapeutic effect as well as reduce the toxicity of the latter.
In this review, we summarize the anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects of thymoquinone with a focus on its molecular targets, and its possible role in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Thymoquinone (TQ) is the bioactive constituent of the volatile oil of black cumin seed. It has been shown to exert anti-neoplastic and anti-inflammatory effects.
The combination of TQ with clinically used anti-cancer drugs has led to improvements in their therapeutic index and prevents non-tumor tissues from sustaining chemotherapy-induced damage.
Thymoquinone: a promising anti-cancer drug from natural sources. Gali-Muhtasib, H; Int J Biochem Cell Biol. 2006;38(8):1249-53.
It has been shown that Nigella sativa L. (NS) and reduced glutathione (GSH) have both an anti-peroxidative effect on different tissues and a scavenger effect on ROS. These results clearly show that NS and GSH treatment significantly antagonize the effects of radiation.
Therefore, NS and GSH may be a beneficial agent in protection
Nigella Sativa (black cumin) has neuro-protective, nephroprotective, lung protective, cardio-protective, hepato-protective activities as established by previous studies on animals. The current study demonstrates the role of NS in enhancing memory, attention and cognition. Therefore, whether NS could be considered as potential food supplement for preventing or slow progressing of Alzheimer disease needs further investigations.
