SOEnergy International Philippines and SOCOTECO II declared March 22, 2014 as the commercial operation date for the 1 megawatt modular generating sets installed at SOCOTECO II compound in General Santos City. The additional 1 megawatt power supply from SoEnergy is expected to reduce power outages by two hours. Rate increases will be between 42 centavos to P1.53 per kilowatt hour depending on the duration of operation of the modular generating sets. Power customers are still requested to observe power conservation efforts to lessen the impact of power supply deficiencies in Mindanao island.
