Matt Smith There are many actors that have inspired me over the years. Matt Smith is tied for the top spot with David Tennant. Ironically, both of them have played the same character. Matt Smiths portrayal of The Doctor was incredible. He began his journey as an imaginary friend of a young girl. Then he became a member of a family. There were a few things that he did with the script that cut me deep. At one point in the show he faked his death, he, then, returned to his best friends/motherin-laws house. His face alone when she said Merry Christmas killed me. The look of sheer love was amazing, given the fact that The Doctor has always been a loner. He never has a family for long, and he NEVER stays for Christmas. However, the best part was his final speech, and took place last night. A bunch of us were sitting around watching the Christmas Special. People who dont even like Doctor Who were enraptured. These words were uttered right before he regenerated (transformed his body) We all change. When you think about it, were all different people throughout our lives, and thats okay. Thats good. Youve got to keep moving. So long as you remember all the people you used to be. I will not forget one line, not one day. I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me. The words, themselves, were

powerful, but they were delivered with such conviction and honesty that I got choked up. It was amazing. He is a truly gifted actor. His gift for committing to a part is amazing. Ryan Gosling caught a glimpse of one of Matt Smiths speeches on TV and wanted him in his new movie. This man is fantastic.
