For the past few decades the number of U.S. cows used by the
dairy industry has been on a down fall, however the amount of
dairy produced has been on the rise. In the chart below, each
cow shown represents on million cows in the United States.
Recombaint bovine growth hormone or
recombinant bovine somatotropin is a genetically
engineered hormone used increase milk
production in cows. A common concern is that
the hormones caused numerous health concerns.
Many Americans look to rBGH/ rBST free
labeling on products to avoid the those problems.
