A BILL FOR AN ACT


101 CONCERNING A PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF PUBLIC MONEYS FOR ANY
102 PHYSICAL SIGNAGE THAT INDICATES THAT A PROJECT IS BEING
103 FUNDED BY THE FEDERAL "AMERICAN RECOVERY AND
104 REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009".

The bill prohibits the use of public moneys for any physical
signage indicating that a project is being funded by the federal "American

1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:


2 SECTION 1. Title 24, Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended BY
3 THE ADDITION OF A NEW ARTICLE to read:
4 ARTICLE 94
5 Federal Stimulus Act Funded Projects - Prohibition on
6 Publicly Funded Acknowledgment Signs
7 24-94-101. Signs acknowledging "American Recovery and
8 Reinvestment Act of 2009" funding of projects - prohibition on public
9 funding. ON AND AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ARTICLE, NO

10 PUBLIC MONEYS, INCLUDING STATE MONEYS, LOCAL GOVERNMENT

11 MONEYS, AND FEDERAL MONEYS MADE AVAILABLE TO THE STATE OR A

12 LOCAL GOVERNMENT, MAY BE USED FOR PHYSICAL SIGNAGE INDICATING

13 THAT A PROJECT IS BEING FUNDED BY THE FEDERAL "AMERICAN


14 RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009", PUB.L. 111-5, AS

15 AMENDED.

16 SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,


17 determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
18 preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
