We spent all of this past month in Italy,
serving with the MCYM directors on both
Camp Darby (near Pisa) and Aviano Air
base (just north of Venice). While there we
cooked meals for student lunches, helped
with fundraising
events, spoke at
club meetings, ran
game times,
changed tires, oil,

cleaned bathrooms, and generally tried to
be as helpful as possible within the time that
we were at each place.
On Sundays, we were
privileged to worship and
fellowship with believers in
varied and wonderful ways. Katy

service in Italian at a local
church in Pordenone. Finally,
we found an English-language,

Mid-week, we’ve been
invited to different studies and other times of
fun and fellowship with brothers and sisters
of all different races, languages and
nationalities. One of Austin’s favorite such
experiences was the day he was invited to
take part in the Protestant Men’s Bible study
that meets weekly over lunch hour in the
chapel office at Aviano. He said it made
him very proud of our military to see many
high-ranking officers taking time out of their
schedules to pray and study together.
