T H E 2819 C L U B

Dear St. Mark Brothers and Sisters,

During each Sunday the months of May, June, and July, 2008, several of God’s people
met to pray the prayer, “LORD, what do You want Your people at St. Mark to do to
touch people with the love of Christ?” That is more than a question; it is a humbling
of ourselves, taking time to listen to God’s will rather than legislate it. It is placing
ourselves at His feet rather than over His head. It is asking for our eyes to be open to His
plan rather than our mouths to dictate it.

We know that God will be found by those who humble themselves before Him and will
answer those who ask of Him.

As one who has taken time to be in humble prayer before the Lord and who has taken
the time to listen to His direction by the Holy Spirit, it is now time to share what He is
desiring of you with the rest of His people. The questions on the reverse side of this
sheet are meant to be an avenue for you to do just that: share with the rest of God’s
people here what you feel is God’s direction for St. Mark in this question.

You may or may not desire to share at this point. That is your prerogative. Likewise, you
may or may not wish to append your name to this. That is also up to you. The only desire
we have for you to keep in mind when filling this out is: (a)that this be where you feel the
Spirit is leading you and not your own desire, (b)that you have written this down after
much prayer, and (c)that you have a heart that understands that, ultimately, God’s will in
this may be different from what you have shared here and, as a fellow member of the
Body of Christ, you will support His will, no matter what that is.

With all that in mind, please fill out the questions on the reverse side of this sheet and
return it to the church office.
