Noh Theatre
ES and MS students will be
performing at the NHK Osaka
Hall near the Osaka Castle
Monday November 21 at 6:30
PM. The Yamamoto Noh
theatre and the Kansai
Philharmonic are doing a joint
performance, mixing a
symphony orchestra with the
traditional noh instruments. It
should be a big evening for
the students.

Trilingual Speech Contest

Middle and High School Parent


Teacher Conferences are
taking place Tuesday
November 22 from 1:00 - 6:30
PM in the library.

Congratulations to OIS grade 11 student Mia Lewis (above) for


her first place speech in the fourth annual contest. Students from
Senri & Osaka International Schools and Korean International
School participated on the afternoon November 12. Mia gave her
speech in English, Japanese and Korean in the high school
category. The theme of the speeches was information-oriented
society and Mias speech conveyed the message that the
increased amount of data, information and mobile technology has
brought our society closer together. SIS head of school Mayumi
Ito is giving Mia her championship certificate.

her research at the Senri
International Schools Super
Global High School
presentation day at 12:45 PM
on Tuesday in the gym. Her
research looked at the
indoctrination of Hitler Youth in
Nazi Germany from 1943-45.

High school boys basketball team
plays Sons of the Light
International School tomorrow
starting at :3:15 PM. High school
girls basketball takes on Kinran
Senri High School at 2:00 PM. The
games take place in the OIS gym
and everyone is invited to attend.
Middle school girls soccer is hosting
Canadian Academy and Marist
Brothers International School.
Games begin at 9:30 AM and go
until 3:30 PM.
Middle school boys basketball
travels to Suma to play the Bulldogs
of Marist Brothers IS. Games are at
12:30 and 2:00 PM.
Triathlon club will be running in the
Amagasaki Shimin Marathon
Sunday November 20.

US Soccer Star Visits OIS


Megan Crosson professional soccer player for the Speranza
Football Club in Takatsuki, spent today with our elementary
physical education students. She is a graduate of Santa Clara
University and most recently played with the Houston Dash of
the Womens Premier Soccer League in the USA. The students
were quite excited to meet a professional soccer player. More
about the visit in later publications. You can follow Megans

Fall Break
OIS wishes everyone a restful break and encourages everyone to
reconnect with their family. One of the IB Learner Profile traits
is balanced and it is important for families to spend time
together, especially in a country like Japan with such long
working hours and busy schedules. Wednesday November 23 is
Japan Labor Day and Thursday November 24 is American
Thanksgiving. School returns on Tuesday November 29.
