    GOVERNOR BARBOUR CALLS FOR A DAY OF PRAYER ON


    SUNDAY FOR AREAS IMPACTED BY GULF OIL SPILL
    Jackson, Mississippi – Governor Haley Barbour proclaimed June 27 as a Day of Prayer to remember the
    Mississippi Gulf Coast and other states effected by the oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon accident.

    “I know fellow Mississippians have kept our Gulf Coast in their thoughts and prayers since this horrible
    accident occurred two months ago,” Governor Barbour said. “I join our coastal neighbors in asking for
    remembrances of those who lost their lives in this tragedy as well as the families and communities dealing
    with the effects of the spill on their businesses and daily lives.”
