SENATE MAJORITY LEADER AMY KOCH ACKNOWLEDGES

VETERANS FOR THEIR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE
St. Paul --- On Veteran’s Day 2010, Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch (R-Buffalo), a Veteran
of the United States Air Force, shared her message of gratitude and respect for those who have
bravely fought on behalf of our country.

“This Veteran’s Day, I urge us all to think of one man or woman we know who has sacrificed
everything we take for granted. Make this Veteran’s Day personal. Think of the fathers who will
not see their children’s first step or graduation day because their country needs these brave people
thousands miles from home. Think of the daughters who will put weddings and families on hold
in order to carry out missions on foreign soil. Make this Veteran’s Day inspirational. Think of a
family member you know whose life was completed redesigned in an instant, but who has never
once complained,” said Senator Koch.

Senator Koch continued: “It takes a special kind of person, one that can be so gracious and
generous with their lives to fight and stand up for everything that makes this country so great. But
this Veteran’s Day, we should be incredibly grateful that most of us will never have to find out---
because of the bravery and selflessness of those who are willing to fight on our behalf.

This Veteran’s Day, I offer my deepest thanks for those who carry more than their share of this
country’s weight. Without your willingness to carry out the actions our great leaders deem
necessary, we would be nothing.”
