INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
For 2011
Platform
endeavours to present an exhibition program that supports (but notrestricted to) the following:
-
Exhibitions of new work that considers the site specificity of Platform
-
Critically and socially engaged art practices
-
Multi disciplinary, conceptual, spatial approaches to the site
-
Collaborative practices and curated exhibitions
-
Opportunities for emerging artists; and mid career artists/established artists wishingto engage with the unique possibilities of Platform’s exhibition spaces.
EXHIBITION SPACES
Four spaces are available for this proposal round. It recommended that applicants visit thesesites before submitting their proposal to consider the suitability of their project to the exhibitionspace requested. A floorplan with specifications and dimensions is provided with theseguidelines. Due to Council regulations, please note that exhibitions are confined to thecabinet spaces only, and no materials can be installed in exterior spaces or surfaces, thisincludes the Campbell Arcade site.Applications are accepted for the following spaces:
PLATFORM
- 12 glass-fronted cases lining the underground pedestrian walkway in CampbellArcade, linking Flinders Street Station to Degraves Street
VITRINE
- a floor to ceiling glass shop-front sized window in Campbell Arcade (suitable for larger scale installations)SAMPLE - a single case in Campbell Arcade specifically allocated to Young and EmergingArtists
MAJORCA
- off-site cabinets in Centreway Arcade most suitable for 2D artwork. (For the2011 program applications for Majorca are encouraged from artists/graphic designers/architects for graphic work that engages with the urban context.)
