dancing. The one on one instruction between a professional instructor and student is the BEST
way to produce results and enhance all aspects of ballroom dancing! Not everyone learns the
same way. For that reason, your instructor will find the most suitable way to teach YOU the
dances YOU want to learn and at YOUR own pace. Please do not hesitate to call us at (858) 451-
3775 with any questions that you might have. Our friendly Front Desk Staff will have you out on
the dance floor 1, 2, three!
Group Classes
Group Classes are open to walk-ins as well as students who schedule in advance. Most group
classes are taught in 4-5-week series. We offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced level
group classes. If you are unsure which lesson you "belong" in, ask your teacher. Group classes
are taught at the average learning rate of the group. Group classes are a great place to meet
potential practice or competition dance partners. Admission to our advanced level group class
requires instructor pre-approval.
We provide one-on-one private instruction for professional dancers and individuals who wish to
become instructors. Lessons for indivdiual or professional couples cost $150 per 50 minute
session.
Class instruction will reinforce and supplement private instruction. A concentrated review with
each other 's instructors and students enhances the learning experience and speeds up progress.
Types of Programs
1. Introductory Program - This program is designed as an introduction to the popular
social dances. This allows your teacher an opportunity to take care of your immediate
dancing needs and to evaluate your future ones.
2. General Variety - This program will develop several of your essential social dances to a
comfortable competent social standard. Emphasis is placed on the three most important
elements of dancing namely foot positions, rhythm, and timing and leading and
following.
3. Associate Bronze - This is the program for the impatient dancer who wants everything. It
will develop free flowing movement around the dance floor, much more variety,
technique, footwork and your first introduction to styling, that is those sensuous latin
movements and that smooth flowing grace. This program is popular with those people
that want to look good on the dance floor right away.
4. Full Bronze - This is the full social standard. This level of styling will have you looking
very comfortable and confident on the dance floor. It will strengthen your lead and follow
to the point that no matter who your partner is, what kind of music is playing, or what
type of dance floor your on, you will look poised and comfortable with all the popular
dances steps and many variations. It will give you all the confidence you will ever need
on the dance floor. This is the fun point in dancing when you don't have to think about
anything except enjoying your partner and feeling the flow with the music.
5. Silver - Silver is a dance standard with a high degree of styling. Flashy movements make
this standard stand out on the dance floor. Continuity of movement enables a couple to
glide around the dance floor with great sophistication and grace. Technique is very
important to develop this type of movement. This is the first true step to an International
Style of dancing.
6. Gold - Strictly for the hobby dancer who enjoys dancing for it's own sake or for the
person who enjoys exhibitions. It's intricate patterns are only to be used when both people
know what they are doing. Choreography, Styling, Technique and Showmanship are
necessities in this standard. The smoothness and control make this a beautiful standard to
sit and watch. You had better be prepared to be here a while and work hard if this is your
standard, but you will truly be regarded as an outstanding dancer, able to excel in any
dance there is.
Class Definitions
Adult Ballet - Ballet builds self-confidence, good posture and strong limber muscles. Whether
the student is dancing professionally, or just for recreation, ballet training will enable a student to
explore their natural love of movement.
Adult Hip Hop - Whether you’re looking to pick up a few moves, get some exercise, meet new
people or just have a lot of fun, we’ve got it all here for you. A genre of dance that incorporates a
certain style of creativity, attitude, music, posture, and choreography. This genre stems from
early urban influences of rap and the inner city streets where many different ethnic cultures and
dance disciplines fused together to form the exciting form of dance known as hip-hop.
