Languages • In American Samoa, most people are bilingual they speak both Samoan and English. In samoa most people speak Samoan although they inhabitants of island speak Tokelauan. Cuisine • Sunday are traditionally a day of rest and many families congregate to share an umu together for a Sunday afternoon meal. In a traditional household the older member of the family will sit and eat first and as the meal continues the younger members of then children are invited to eat. Samoan tattoos • Tattoos or demonstrate the strong ties many Samoans feel for their culture. They have practiced the art of tattooing both men and women for over 2,000 years a man tattoos extensively covers from mid back, down the sides and flanks to the knees. A women's tattoos is not quite as extensive or heavy.
