The Trinity of God:

Hebrews 1: 5-14

God is ONE in Essence and Three in persons.

Trinity=Three-ness
Tri-unity=Three-one-ness

The Confusion & arguments

We accept the Doctrine because of two reasons:

1. Logical Reasons:

- If God is Love, then whom did He love before the creation?

- In Creation we see succession of Tri-unities:
* Man = Body, Soul, Spirit
* Universe = Time, Space, Matter
* Time = Past, Present, Future
* Space = Length, Breadth, Height
* Matter = Energy, Motion, Phenomena
* Sun = Light, Heat, Energy

Conclusion- Definitely points towards the Triune Nature of the Creator.

- Considering God without these distinctions is inconceivable.

2. Scriptural Reasons:

Read Gen 1:1, 26-27; 3:22; 11:7.

Turn to Isa 6:3, 8
Compare with Jn 12:41 & Acts 28:25-26.

- Triune God:
* Father - Planned
* Son - Performed
* Holy Spirit - Perfected to/in us.

- Falsehood of cults.
- Christ as God. Rom 9:5; Tit 2:13; 1Jn5:20.
 Scriptural Reasons: Notice in the NT-

1. In Incarnation of LJC – Lk 1:35.

2. At Baptism of LJC – Lk 3:21-22.
3. In the Work of Redemption – Tit 3:4-6.
4. In Resurrection of LJC –Acts 2:24; Rom8:11.
5. In the Great Commission – Matt 28:19.
6. In Giving of Gifts – 1Cor 12:4-6.
7. In Benediction – 2Cor 13:14; Jude 20-21.
8. In Prayer.

Notice in Heb 1:5-14

God the Father, of the Son, through the Spirit reveals:

1. His Everlasting Kingdom–the Throne(v8a)

2. His Righteous Rule –the Scepter(v.8b)
3. His Anointing – the Oil of Gladness(v.9)
4. His Creative Role–the Work of His Hands(v.10)
5. He shall Remain –the lasting nature(v.11)
6. He shall not fail–the unchanging nature(v.12)
7. He is Ever Victorious –the sure victory(v.13)

Therefore, Worship Him (v.7).
