What is the Aetherius Society?

 The Aetherius Society is an international spiritual organization dedicated to spreading,
and acting upon, the teachings of advanced extraterrestrial intelligences.
o In great compassion, these beings recognize the extent of suffering on Earth and
have made countless sacrifices in their mission to help us to create a better
world.
 The theology of the Aetherius Society is regarded as firmly based in theosophy.1
 The Aetherius Society combines UFO claims, yoga, and ideas from various world
religions, notably Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity.
 The society asserts itself as a plural or liberal religion, stating "nor does God favor
people of one religion over another – and certainly not people of one country or race
over another".

What is the purpose of their religion?

 The religion's goal is to prevent worldly destruction by improving cooperation between
humanity and various alien 'masters';
 and by using 'spiritual energy' to improve the spiritual calibre of the world.

Who’s who behind this religion?

 The Society was founded in the mid-1950s by an
Englishman named George King shortly after he was
contacted in London by an extraterrestrial (ET)
intelligence known as “Aetherius.”
o Aetherius is one of the extraterrestrial
intelligences George King calls Cosmic
Masters.
o The main body of the Society’s teachings
consists of the wisdom given through the
mediumship of Dr. King by the Master
Aetherius and other advanced intelligences
from this world and beyond.
o The believer is to cooperate with these Cosmic
Masters to help humanity solve its current
Earthly problems and advance into the New Age2.
 King is now regarded by the Aetherius Society as an Avatar and Cosmic Master, though
he did not make any claim to being either in his lifetime.

1
Theosophy is teaching about God and the world based on mystical insight. Theosophical writers hold
that there is a deeper spiritual reality and that direct contact with that reality can be established through intuition,
meditation, revelation, or some other state transcending normal human consciousness.

2
In the New Age, they claim that the planet Earth, a highly evolved conscious intelligence, will be
changing with an intense quickening of vibration. If vibrations failed to rise in harmony with the change, men will
no longer be able to live in it. It is for this reason that the Cosmic Masters, including Dr. King, have given the world
the most potent path on Earth to change the world and open the door of enlightenment: King Yoga.

 The Aetherius Society also believes that King was the only person in the society to
receive mental transmissions.

Take note:
1. The Society does not regard itself as the one and only path to enlightenment or
salvation.
2. It maintains that all the great religions are simply different expressions of the one
essential timeless reality that is the Divine Source.

Religious Symbol

The Society’s symbol means “God

manifesting itself as wisdom,”
a. the left part being an ancient and holy
symbol for God, and
b. the triangle on the right being a symbol for
wisdom.

What are their beliefs?

The Society’s beliefs cover a very wide spectrum of philosophy, religion, metaphysics
and the spiritual sciences, including the following key concepts:

1. Selfless service to others

o Service to others, also known as “karma yoga”, is the greatest spiritual practice
anyone can perform.
o This is the most important aspect of The Aetherius Society’s work and teachings.
2. Yoga
o Far from just being a way to stay fit and healthy, or even a relaxation technique,
yoga is in fact a profound and ancient spiritual philosophy with enlightenment
and selflessness at its core.
3. Spiritual energy, prayer and
healing
o Spiritual energy is no less
real than electricity and
operates according to
natural laws. It can help to
heal, inspire, guide, bless
and protect whoever it is
directed to.
o One can learn to invoke
and transmit this light
energy – this love energy –
to help ourselves, individuals in need, and most importantly, the world as a whole.
o Dynamic prayer is not about requesting a favor from a whimsical deity, but
about attracting spiritual energy to oneself and directing it to a focal point to bring
about positive change.

o Mantra – the recitation of holy sounds – is also a great way to invoke and
transmit this mystical power.

4. The Mother Earth

o The Mother Earth is a living Goddess who is sacrificing her own evolution to
provide a home for humankind – a backward and often barbaric race.
o The Aetherius Society works in various ways to help her in this self-appointed
task, a task of unimaginable self-sacrifice.

5. Extraterrestrial life
o Advanced extraterrestrial civilizations exist on other planets in this solar system.
o Science as we know it has not detected this life because it exists at higher
frequencies of vibration on these planets.
o In The Aetherius Society these beings are sometimes termed “Cosmic Masters”,
or even “Gods”, in deference to their high state of spiritual evolution.
o In great compassion and self-sacrifice, they help humankind on Earth in countless
ways. Without them we would have long since perished. Certain Cosmic Masters
have in the past chosen to be born among us in Earth bodies in order to give
teaching and other forms of essential assistance. The Master Jesus, the Lord
Buddha, Sri Patanjali, Sri Krishna, Confucius and Lao Zi were such beings.
o The Aetherius Society cooperates directly with the Cosmic Masters in the
performance of the Cosmic Missions, including Operation Prayer Power.
o Intelligent life also exists beyond this solar system – some worlds being more
advanced than our own, some less advanced – some extraterrestrial intelligences
being benevolent, and others hostile.

6. UFOs
o Some so-called “unidentified flying objects” have in fact been identified as
extraterrestrial spacecraft.
o These have been visiting Earth for millennia; in the Bible they are described in
various ways including “cloud”, “star” and “flying scroll”, and in the Hindu
scripts there is a specific term for them: vimana.

7. Karma and reincarnation

o Karma is not about punishment, but about learning.

o Karma is the great cosmic teacher which gives us the lessons we need in order
to advance in our journey through spiritual evolution.
o Between incarnations we spend a period of time on another “plane” (also referred
to as another “realm”).
o This is part of Earth but exists at a different frequency of vibration.
o When, after many lives, we have learnt all the lessons provided by reincarnation,
we are allowed to leave this “wheel of rebirth” and start a higher experience cycle
on another planet as a Cosmic Master.

What are their practices?

The Cosmic Missions
The Cosmic Missions performed by The Aetherius Society are the most important aspect
of their work. Each of these involves direct cooperation with advanced extraterrestrial

intelligences known as Cosmic Masters, although no physical contact with these beings is
required for the missions to be performed successfully.

1. Operation Prayer Power

 In the Cosmic Mission known

as Operation Prayer
Power members and sympathizers
meet on a regular basis and chant
mantra and visualize spiritual
energy being directed towards an
individual who is praying in very
dynamic fashion.
 The person praying is in turn
directing this energy into a
spiritual energy battery – a
special piece of apparatus which
can store spiritual energy for release in times of need to bring about healing, peace and
upliftment.
 Anyone sympathetic to the Society’s beliefs is welcome to observe an Operation Prayer
Power charging session, but to take part a small amount of training is required.
 The Aetherius Society claims that under the guidance of the Cosmic Masters and with the
aid of Spiritual Energy Batteries, they have prevented wars, and relieved the effects of
natural disasters. King taught that these spiritual exercises help to prevent worldly
destruction.

2. Pilgrimages

 The Society organizes

regular pilgrimages to holy
mountains.
 Pilgrims come together to send out
spiritual energy to the world as a
whole, their prayers being highly
potentized because of the energy
contained within the holy mountain.

3. Commemorations
 The Aetherius Society holds commemoration services to celebrate some of the
most significant cosmic events in recent history, such as the Primary Initiation
of The Mother Earth on July 8th, 1964.
Such commemorations give reverence and
power to these important happenings.

4. Spiritual healing

 As well as absent healing, the Society

offers contact healing. This is given free of
charge, though donations are always
welcome.

 It is based on an understanding of the flow of spiritual energy through the
major chakras and the aura.
 This is not faith healing, and belief by the patient in the technique is not required
for it to have a positive impact on them, though this may help.
 While there are countless instances of excellent results of this method of healing,
no guarantees can be given, and professional medical care should always be
sought where necessary in addition to receiving this complementary treatment.

What are the Aetherius Dogmas?

.
There are many great spiritual paths – each of them unique. The following are some of the
key aspects of The Aetherius Society which make it a very special and effective path at this time
of great change on Earth:

 Selfless service to others is at the core of all Aetherius Society teachings and values, and the
Society offers a very potent way to be of service to the world as a whole.
 The Aetherius Society works in direct co-operation with the Gods from space to help bring
about peace, healing and upliftment on Earth.
 The teachings of The Aetherius Society hold the answers to numerous profound questions which
philosophers have pondered for centuries – regarding subjects such as: (1) life on other planets,
(2) life after death, (3) the nature of God, (4) the creation of the universe and (5)
the meaning of life.
 These teachings have been given by the Gods from space in language which is as simple, concise
and accessible as possible.
 The wisdom of these teachings has not been diluted over time, as has happened in some older
paths. The vast majority of Transmissions given through Dr. King were recorded for posterity, so
spiritual seekers can actually hear the words of the Gods for themselves.
 The Society does not claim to be the “one and only way” as do some religions, and Aetherius
Society teachings share truths with many great faiths and mystical traditions.
 The Society’s beliefs and practices include aspects of Christianity, eastern mysticism
(especially yoga philosophy) and cosmic new age spirituality.
 The Society maintains that all people have Divine potential, and that no one is ever “beyond
redemption”.
 The Society offers a series of powerful spiritual initiations to its Members, and gives equal
opportunities regardless of gender or race.

Theology

 The Aetherius Society's theology is theosophical and is also based on the continual
evolution of all beings back to the source which is God.
 The society also refers to God as being "All in All, and All in All That," and the highest
aspect of God as "The Absolute."
 The society believes that other beings exist that are so evolved compared to humanity
that they are sometimes referred to as 'Gods' to distinguish them.
o "There is nothing but God in the cosmos, in varying stages of evolution. Everyone
will eventually become a Master and will continue evolving from there."
 The society regards itself as a spiritual path rather than a religious movement per se.
 Its path contains various stages of spiritual evolution from earthly to cosmic.
 Karma and reincarnation are accepted by the religion as laws of nature.
 Its religious services use both Christian prayers and Eastern mantras.
