TOPIC: LAW OF INTERACTION
WHAT ARE EXPECTED OF YOU?
Well, you are expected to:
 investigate the relationship between the amount of force applied and the mass of the
object to the amount of change in the object’s motion; and
 infer that when a body exerts a force on another, an equal amount of force is exerted
back on it

OPENING PRAYER
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord, You are the source of all wisdom and knowledge. Send us Your Holy Spirit to enlighten
us through the day. Fill us with Your gift of understanding and grant us Your inspiration, that
we may do Your will. Perform our task the best we can and be pleasing in Your sight, Amen.

CORE CONTENT

Open your book on page 20 and try to answer the Wordstorm. Write the hidden
message below.

Law of Interaction is also known as the LAW OF ACTION-REACTION.

BIG IDEA
Third Law of Motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the
two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the
force on the second object.
EXAMPLE
Action: The player hits the ball using
force.
Reaction: The ball was hit by the player
using baseball bat which makes the ball fly

REMEMBER!
In every action there’s an opposite reaction.
This is also applicable in our real life,
“No man is an island”
is a phrase which can be related to the said law
Wherein there should be another force in order
to successfully demonstrate this law.

Study your book on page 22.The Filipino game Pukpok Palayok and Tug of War is an
example of the law of interaction.

man style of drawing but make sure to indicate action & reaction by using an arrows.) 6
points

GENERALIZATION
Always remember that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.  Forces
are either pushes or pulls resulting from the interactions between objects. Some

interactions come from contact, while others come from forces that act over distance,
such as magnetism, electricity or gravity.

KEY POINTS
 Law of Action-reaction is also called as the Law of Interaction.
 The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the
second object.
