1. Superior short circuit
protection
The fuse is a superior short circuit protecting device
in regard to its maximum cut-off current.
In addition a fuse interrupts a short circuit current
very quickly, consequently the energy let through
(I2t) of a fuse is very low.

2. Economical life time cost

3. Easy selectivity, no need
for calculation tools
Fuse links provide a simple procedure for selecting
the right fuse for the installation.

4. Replacement after a fault
gives 100% integrity
In the event of a fault the protective device has to
open the circuit. A specific feature of a fuse is that
this is done without using mechanical moving parts.
In case of a fault, a fuse always opens the circuit. It
blows, and when replaced the circuit is protected in
exactly the same way as before the fault occurred.

5. Co-ordination for
motorstarters
The aim of successful co-ordination is to ensure adequate
protection against short circuits and discrimination between the
starter and the short circuit protective device.
The low I2t let through of the fuse link will protect the thermal
overload relay, while the low peak let through current of the
fuse link protects the contactor contacts from welding.

6. Environmental-friendly
technology
A number of fuse manufacturers established in 1995
a non-profit association known as: NH/HH-
Recycling. It enables customers of the member
companies to have used fuse links disposed of by
environmental means.
