Announcements & Information
Correct Cart Placement: Carts need to be placed 3 feet from each other and 3 feet from
obstructions, otherwise the arm cannot grab the cart. Please make sure the handles of the
cart are facing away from the street. Instructions are on the cart top.

Check out the Online Videos from our Recycling Center: A tour of the single stream sorting and
processing facility in Avon. Check the Franklin Public Works section for what can be recycled.

Official Trash Overflow Bags Available: If you have additional trash that does not fit in your cart,
35 gallon bags are available at the DPW office—257 Fisher St. Cost is $15 for 5. Put the orange bag(s)
next to your trash cart on your trash day and they will be picked up. Only official Franklin overflow
bags will be picked up.

Maximize Your Recycling: Every bit helps, reducing trash reduces your cost. Make it a habit to find
another item that can be recycled and not put in the trash cart. Non foil wrapping paper can be recycled.

Large Plastic Recycling at Beaver Street Facility: There is a large 40 yard roll off container for
you to take your clean rigid plastic. This includes—Little Tikes outdoor play equipment, Plastic toys,
clean trash barrels, recycling bins and more. Clean out for the holidays today!

Recycle Your Grocery Bags. Although they can’t be recycled in the curbside carts, they can be
returned to the store.
