The End of The World Is Near?
Ans:
The first day of a century can never occur on a Sunday, Tuesday or
Thursday.
To improve the calendar, Pope Grogory XIII decreed that every
fourth year that is divisible by four would be a leap year BUT an
exception would be made for centurial years divisible by 400.
E.g. 2000 is a leap year but not 2100, 2200, and 2300.
Year 2000 2100 2200 2300 2400 2500

Century Sat Fri Wed Mon Sat Fri

Day +6 +5 +5 +5 +6
25 leap 24 leap 24 leap 24 leap 25 leap
years = years = years years years
26525 26524
days = days =

weeks 6 weeks 5
days days
This cycle continues. The century day never falls on a Sunday
and the end is NOT in sight! Phew…
