INTRODUCTION
Definition of stress
Stress is a condition or feeling experienced when a
person perceives that “demands exceed the personal
and social resources the individual is able to
mobilize.” In short, it's what we feel when we think
we've lost control of events.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
The management found that though the employees are
adequately compensated the quality of work done is
not satisfactory hence the management felt one of the
areas to be looked into the study of Stress
Management.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

in Indian Commerce and Industries Co.Pvt.Ltd., The


study has been conducted among the employees in that
organization in different position and age group.
The study is to make the detailed analysis of the stress
management among the employees. Suggestions and
recommendations are given which are useful for the
company to control the emotions of the employees. This
may also helps to find the ways to deal with the stress
where it can’t be avoided.
 

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
 To study the stress management among the employees of
Indian Commerce & Industries Co. P. Ltd.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE
 To find out the causes of the stress.
 To find out the symptoms of stress and the ways to
prevent it.
 To identify common stress related diseases.
 To find out the strategies to cope with stressors more
effectively.
LIMITATIONS OF STUDY
1. The sample size chosen is covered only a small part of the
whole population of Indian commerce & Industries
Co.P.Ltd...
2. The study is confined to limited period i.e. 45 days.
3. Accuracy of the study is purely based on the information as
given by the respondents.
4. Since the employees were very busy in their work load, it
took more time for me to get the data.
5. Some of the respondents discussed among themselves before
filling the questionnaire.
6. A few respondents were not co-operative.
FINDINGS
• Most of the employees working in the organization are
male.
• Most of the respondents feel restless while they are in
stress.
• Most of the respondents states that having too much
things to do with not enough time causes stress.
• Most of the respondents state that listening music helps
them to relieve from stress.
• Most of the respondents feel that they are not suffered
from any diseases because of work related stress.

• Most of the respondents states that relaxation


programs are not conducted in their organization.
• 54.66% of respondents feel that their workload level
is high.
• 89.33% of the respondents views are stress is
temporary and avoidable.
• The test result states that there is no relationship
between the stress symptoms and the workload of
the respondents.
SUGGESTIONS
Relaxation programs are to be conducted to prevent them from
the work related stress.
Periodical counseling has to be conducted in order to avoid the
employees to carry stress from home to workplace.
Schedule the work among the employees and not forcing them
to finish the More work within the shorter period of time.
Company could have been given equal chance to the female
employees.
Effective remuneration package has to be framed so that many
employees will be satisfied.
Necessary steps should be taken to reduce the level of workload of the
employees.
CONCLUSION
The Future of “Stress Management” is very bright. More and more
companies today are opting for stress management to optimize
employee performance.
The project titled “A study on stress management” had been
undertaken with the aim of finding out the stress related diseases and the
causes of stress among the employees in Indian Commerce and Industries
Co. P.Ltd.
Majority of the employees working in Indian commerce and Industries
Co.P.Ltd are not suffering from any stress related diseases and they are
satisfied with the superior- subordinate relationship.
Company today have realized that keeping their employees happy and free of
stress motivates the employee to give more than a 100% to the organization.
