 When I hear educational Technology, first thing that comes to my mind is it is the study and

ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and
managing appropriate technological processes and resources. It is a theory bout how problems
in our learning are identified and solved. It is an area of technology devoted to the development
and application of tools which includes software, hardware, and processes included to promote
education. Educational Technology is a process and study of facilitating and enhancing the
learning process trough the use of technological resources.
 The most common word stated in the topic is technology because nowadays technology has
been part of our daily lives. Sometimes, people recognized technology as their best friend and
technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, our
ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful because we’re too
busy on different gadgets present nowadays. Our society now has been dramatically changed
with the evolution of technology. The access to education, medicine, industry, transportation
has been simplified due to modern day technology.
 The two phrase that are related to each other are instructional technology and educational
technology because instructional technology deals with the process of using technology for
instruction while educational technology is the development of teaching and learning. These
two phrases has a significant role for learning of a child. They are related in a sense that they
contribute something for an effective learning. Instructional technology is part of educational
technology that are concerned with instruction as contrasted to designs and operations of
educational instructions.
 I can conclude that educational technology can lead to increased student’s attention and
interest in the material. Undoubtedly, both educational and instructional technology have
certainly come a long way and will continue to grow in popularity as our technology continues to
penetrate into almost every aspect of our daily lives. Educational technology has he and will
continue to have a significant impact on higher education. This educational technology will help
students to increase their higher order thinking skills. Teachers should use educational
technology as a tool in their classroom because students need different ways of learning. They
will learn best if the technology is used in the right way.

 Educational technology is an iterative process for designing instructions or training used to
improve performance of one’s environment. It is a theory and practice of systematic design of
learning processes and resources. It also a field that involves application of complex, integration,
and problem solving in human learning. Educational technology is a practice and study of
facilitating and enhancing learning process. It also a profession like teaching because it is made
up of organization effort to implement theory and practical application of educational
technology.
 You can see in the three concentric circles, in the first circle is the educational technology
because it composed of complex and integrated process of involving people, procedures, and
ideas for analyzing problem and managing solution to those problems involved in all aspects of
human learning. In other words, educational technology is a very broad term. In the second
circle is the instructional technology because it is a part of educational technology which
introduce technology that refers to those aspects of educational technology that are concerned
with instructions and operations of educational institutions. The third circle is the technology
 Integration and educational media. Technology Integration is used in learning technologies to
introduce, reinforce, supplement and extended skills. Technology Integration is part and parcel
of Instructional technology which in turn is part of educational technology. Educational media
are channels or instruments of communication. These media also serve educational purpose.
Like technology Integration, educational media is also part of educational technology.
 The difference between educational technology and technology in education is that educational
technology is mainly concerned with narrow spectrum of technologies used for communication
and dissemination of information while technology in education is concerned with a broad
spectrum of technology which is any innovation, change or modification of the natural
environment to satisfy perceived human needs and how technology accomplishes engineering
and others. Educational technology is also a dialogy between educators, specialist, ICT teachers
and administrators on how to the best utilize technology in school or in education. Technology
in education is also simply referring to the tools such as blogs, tablets, and interactive board.
 They say technology is a craft or art. Educational technology is therefore an art in teaching but it
is often perceived to mean just the modern technology like hardware, but it refers broadly to
the use of all human inventions and discoveries to satisfy all the needs in the educational
processes. These inventions and discoveries includes the devices, tools, equipment, activities,
procedures, and processes. All the old traditional learning equipment like chalk, chalkboard, and
bulletin board also form part of the educational technology because these traditional equipment
can be use in imparting knowledge to the learners.
 Educational technology or instructional technology was not yet mentioned in our class in
principles of teaching, but there are terms that has been discussed that are related in
educational technology just like teaching styles. Teaching styles are refer to the strategies and
techniques that you use as a teacher to your students in order that they learned effectively.
Teaching style is related in educational technology in a sense that nowadays you need to use
various methods or modern methods in imparting knowledge. In educational technology, it is
important to consider the different teaching styles when we are choosing instructional activities.
The best way to go is to mix a variety of strategies and activities to engage different types of
learners and maximize learning. When planning and developing instructional material, strive for
a balance of teaching styles to match the various learning styles.

 Society today is on the brink of a social revolution due to the profound impact that technology
has on our society. Technology is redefining what it means to be social and how we, as human,
connect to our environment and those around us. Like many advancement throughout history,
the technological boom is a double edged sword with both positive and negative impacts that
will be felt for years to come. In examining the positive impact of technology, it is important to
consider the strides technology has made fostering connections of a personal and more
corporate nature. Technology has contributed to the overall trend of globalization that our
world has been undergoing. Today, it is much easier to conduct international business. The irony
in education bringing us together is that it is also making us more isolated at the same time
internet addictions are becoming a diagnosed problem for people of all ages. Technology is a
boon as long as it is our slave. It's when we let it become a master, that it becomes a bane.
When you say technology is dominating your life in a sense you are allowing it to do so. As a
 human being you have a brain to decide what's wrong, what’s not, when to stop, and when to
get off.
 Many complain that our technology makes us more concerned with the virtual world rather
than the world under our feet and in front of out face. I believe technology both brings us
together and tears us apart. Without technology, we couldn’t explore the internet or
communicate each other with a press of a button. The internet lets us have any kind of
information we ever needed within a few seconds, way back then, people had to send letters
that may have been weeks old by the time they made it to where they were going. We are
updated to the most recent things that are going in the world with one flip of the TV remote.
Technology is tearing us apart in ways of cyber bullying. People of all ages get on the internet
pretending to be someone else saying purposely mean things to bring other people down.
Technology is also tearing us apart in ways of face to face communication. Some people have no
idea how to make eye contact during a conversation due to always sending text messages or
making phone calls.
 Technology is a blessing for a man. With technology, there is a lot that we can do which we
could not do then. Technology contributes much to the improvement of the teaching-learning
process and to the humanization of life. With cellphones, web cams you will be closer to
someone miles and miles away. Many human lives saved because of speedy information via cell
phones. Your teaching and learning can be novel, stimulating, exciting engaging with the use of
multimedia in the classroom. With TV, you can watch event as they happen all over the globe.
 When not used properly, technology becomes a detriment to learning and development.
Technology inherently breeds laziness, as jobs that ere once done by people can be done by
machines and machines make our lives generally easier and require less works. Machines and
factories also contribute to it and water pollution across the planet. When people really enjoy
technology, it is also easy to become addicted to it, which breeds problems of its own. It also
changes and updates so rapidly that recently bought can quickly become outdated and
ineffective.
 People have often debated whether technology is bad or good. Many people believe that
technology can only cause harm to their lives and to the society while many others strongly
defend the technologies which have made there lives much more leisurely and enriching than it
could have been with the absence of technology. In my opinion, both of these views are correct
to an extent, but I also believe that what should be examined is not whether technology in its
self is good or bad, but rather how we decide to use it. Household appliances have greatly
evolved in the last century. All household appliances have made housework much easier than
before.
 Over the past century, technology has advanced greatly without a doubt. The three main
advancements in technology has improved mechanics, weapons, and science in the nature of
research and techniques. From these given examples, the advantages are obvious. It increases
the speed capacity of day to day life and it allows the human race to have the freedom of choice
against nature. However, the human misery caused behind these examples include, the
causation of human laziness, loss of traditional methods and morals, the creation of stronger
face in politics leading to war between countries and many ethical issues raised from the
research findings and techniques as a result. I believe technological advancement intrinsically
relieves suffering but in truth, due to our modern monetary system, technological advancement
furthers the separation of these two worlds inevitably increasing “human misery”. Our greatest
technological achievements are out of reach for much of the forgotten world. Much of
technology we take for granted that has eased human suffering although readily available, are
also unobtainable without simple purchasing power. Consequently, technology doesn’t do any
good for the forgotten 70% and though they received no benefit from our advancement, they
bear the brunt of our technological waste. Due to their lax government regulations, much of
these developing countries have allowed textiles industries to strip them of natural resources
and have become our dumping grounds for dangerous waste resulting in irreversable
environmental damage which certainly increases their suffering.
