The Vancouver Sun

Internship Program
May – August 2008

The Vancouver Sun is calling for applications for its summer 2008 internship program.

The program starts May 1 and offers four-month, fully paid reporting positions in the
newsroom of one of Canada's largest-circulation dailies.

Vancouver Sun interns work almost exclusively filing general assignment news on
weekend, evening and deadline shifts. They routinely file to, and update, the website.
Therefore, some knowledge of audio and video shooting and editing for the web is
preferable.

Interns are enterprising self-starters, capable of quickly and efficiently turning around
news assignments and handling investigative and contextual stories.

Local knowledge is essential. Some Punjabi, Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are
assets, but not requirements.

Candidates with proven news judgment, strong writing skills and an excellent attitude
and work ethic are invited to apply. Please include the names and daytime contact
information of references.

A cover letter, resume and clippings should be sent or e-mailed, marked "Internship
Application," by 5 p.m. Nov. 16, to:
