DRUG Generic Name ascorbic acid (vitamin C) Dose 1ml Route Oral Frequency Once a day Generic Name clarithromycin Dose 125 mg/ml Route Oral Frequency 5 ml q12h x 7days ACTION Essential vitamin believed to be important for synthesis of cellular components, catecholamines, steroids, and carnitine. INDICATION Increases protection and mechanism of the immune system. Necessary for wound healing and resistance to infection. Dietary Supplement. CONTRAINDICATION Hypersensitivity to Vitamin C. ADVERSE EFFECTS Precipitation of cystine, oxalate, or urate crystals in kidney. SIDE EFFECTS Diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, vomiting. NURSING RESPONSIBILITY Get the attention of the child and encourage taking the drug at the prescribed amount. Store the Vitamins at room temperature. Assess for any unusual reaction. Do not cut or crush. Monitor for anticipated response. Administer without regards t meals.

Inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacterial, causing cell death.

Antibiotic/ Antibacterial. Treatment of URIs caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, erythromycin, or any macrolide antibiotic.

Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, superinfections.

Dizziness, headache, vertigo, somnolence, fatigue, dyspepsia, flatulence, vomiting, melena, decreased WBC count, increased PT.

Generic Name cloxacillin Dose 250 mg/5ml Route Oral Frequency 3ml q6h x 7days

Antibiotic in the class of drugs called penicillins. It fights bacteria in your body.

Treat many different types of infections caused by staphylococcus bacteria ("staph" infections).

Hypersensitivity to cloxacillin or penicillin.

An allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; hives; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; rash; or fainting); seizures; severe watery diarrhea and abdominal cramps; or unusual bleeding or bruising.

Mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain; white patches on the tongue (thrush/yeast infection); itching or discharge of the vagina (vaginal yeast infection); or black, "hairy" tongue or sore mouth or tongue.

Take cloxacillin exactly as directed by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Take cloxacillin on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules. Swallow them whole.
