An experimental machinist by trainingand a manufacturing innovator by practice, Mr.Maglica has guided his company’s growth from aone-man machine shop in 1955 to an enterprisethat employs hundreds of dedicated employeestoday. But his work does not stop there. Mr.Maglica continues his commitment to quality bycontinually improving upon the product that bearshis name. A prolific inventor, Mr. Maglica has over100 United States patents to his name, plus amultitude of foreign patents.Mag Instrument is proud to be a leader in thecurrent renaissance in American manufacturing.Mr. Maglica himself, a fervent believer in theimportance of manufacturing in the United States, insists that the manufacture of Mag Instrument’sflashlights remain U.S.-based. Strengthen American Manufacturing
Mag Instrument is the only flashlight company withsignificant market share that still manufactures itsentire line of flashlights in the United States. Unlikeits competitors, Mag Instrument has chosen not tooutsource the manufacturing of its flashlights toforeign countries in order to take advantage ofcheap labor and less stringent environmentalstandards, which may also result in inferior quality. The outsourcing of manufacturing by other U.S.companies has caused hundreds of thousands, ifnot millions, of jobs in the United States to be lost.Indeed, if Mag Instrument had chosen the path ofother flashlight companies, the jobs of hundreds ofits employees in Ontario, California, would havebeen lost - with corresponding job losses, nodoubt, at other U.S. companies that supply parts, materials and services to Mag Instrument.
