And father says: Son, I will soon die, and you shall succeed our family business. Remember one thing - in work you need to be always honest, creditable, reliable and smart. Son asked him: What does honest mean, dad? He said. Whatever you promise you must accomplish! Always and all! Son asked him: And what is smart? He said: Never promise anything! What is the difference between business ethics and business etiquette? Just as the word 'ethics' has a different definition from the word 'etiquette,' there is a vast difference between business ethics and business etiquette. There are even instances where you must forgot etiquette in order to remain ethical in business practices.

Business ethics is a code or a set of standards that a business adheres to. This code essentially states what is considered ethical, and what is considered unethical in terms of how the business is conducted in relation to what is best for human beings, the community, the environment, and so on. Business ethics is a form of applied ethics or professional ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business environment. International business ethics must address the environment. Different countries have different laws and standards when it comes to environmental protection laws. Business etiquette, on the other hand, is essentially conducting business affairs in a polite manner. It can be compared, in some ways, to dinner table etiquette. business etiquette is a group of recommended behaviors for particular situations that occur at workbusiness etiquette encourages workers to treat each other with respect and courtesy by suggesting the best way to behave in different situations. German Business Etiquette 1. In Germany is not usual to socialize with colleagues. 2. Titles are very important to Germans. Do your best to address people by their full, correct title, no matter how extraordinarily long that title may seem to foreigners. This is also true when addressing a letter. 3. Germans guard their private life, so do not phone a German executive at home without permission. 4. Germans love to talk on the telephone. While important business decisions are not made over the phone, expect many follow up calls or faxes. 5. Typically, you do not wait to be seated in German restaurants, and it is not uncommon to share a table with strangers. However, most Germans will think it odd if you try to initiate a conversation with them beyond just establishing that the chairs are available

Serbian Business Etiquette 1. It is desirable to be decently dressed in a suit if possible. It is especially important for women to be dressed formally and decently with little or no jewelry. 2. People shake hands at the beginning and at the end of the meeting.

3. At the beginning of the meeting it is nice to exchange a few polite words about good weather or the way people travel to the meeting (small talk). It is usual to offer guests with coffee or juice. If some important and successful work is finished it is usual to take business associates to lunch. 4. It is nice to know something about the business similar to those you are dealing with at the meeting. 5. It is important to respect authority. The main word in a meeting is led by people most in rank.
