8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
4. Follow all instructions. 9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. When the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

Note - If the TV feels cold to the touch, there may be a small flicker when when it is turned on. This is normal, there is nothing wrong with TV. - Some minute dot defects may be visible on the screen, appearing as tiny red, green, or blue spots. However, they have no adverse effect on the monitor's performance. - Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding your finger(s) against it for long periods of time. Doing so may produce some temporary distortion effects on the screen.
CAUTION concerning the Power Cord Most appliances recommend they be placed upon a dedicated circuit; that is, a single outlet circuit which powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets or branch circuits. Check the specification page of this owner's manual to be certain. Do not overload wall outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged wall outlets, extension cords, frayed power cords, or damaged or cracked wire insulation are dangerous. Any of these conditions could result in electric shock or fire. Periodically examine the cord of your appliance, and if its appearance indicates damage or deterioration, unplug it, discontinue use of the appliance, and have the cord replaced with an exact replacement part by an authorized servicer. The TV can be installed in various ways such as on a wall, or on a desktop etc. The TV is designed to be mounted horizontally. GROUNDING Ensure that you connect the earth ground wire to prevent possible electric shock. If grounding methods are not possible, have a qualified electrician install a separate circuit breaker. Do not try to ground the unit by connecting it to telephone wires, lightening rods, or gas pipes. Power Supply

How to use stand (For 42PC3D, 42PC3DV)
Place the set with the screen facing down on a cushion or soft cloth as shown. Before unfolding the stand, please check whether the 2 Locks (A) of the stand bottom push outward or not.
Pull the stand out using both hands as shown. Before unfolding the stand, please fix the screw (provided as parts of the product) on holes (B) at the bottm of stand.

When connecting cables to the set, Do not dis-engage lock (C). This may cause the set to fall, and cause serious bodily injury, and serious damage to the set.

Hold the CABLE MANAGEMENT with both hands and push it as shown.

How to join the product assembly to the wall to protect the set tumbling
- Set it up close to the wall so the product doesnt fall over when it is pushed backwards. - The instructions shown below is a safer way to set up the product, which is to fix it on the wall so the product doesnt fall over when it is pulled in the forward direction. It will prevent the product from falling forward and hurting people. It will also prevent the product from damage caused by fall. Please make sure that children dont climb on or hang from the product.

Use the eye-bolts or TV brackets/bolts to fix the product to the wall as shown in the picture. * Insert the eye-bolts or TV brackets/bolts and tighten them securely in the upper holes. Secure the wall brackets with the bolts (not provided as parts of the product, must purchase separately) on the wall. Match the height of the bracket that is mounted on the wall. Use a sturdy rope (not provided as parts of the product, must purchase separately) to tie the product. It is safer to tie the rope so it becomes horizontal between the wall and the product.
Notes When moving the product to another place undo the ropes first. Use a product holder or a cabinet that is big and strong enough for the size and weight of the product. To use the product safely make sure that the height of the bracket that is mounted on the wall is same as that of the product.

In a poor signal area to improve picture quality, purchase and install a signal amplifier. If the antenna needs to be split for two TVs, install a 2-Way Signal Splitter in the connections. If the antenna is not installed properly, contact your dealer for assistance. 21

- To avoid picture noise (interference), leave an adequate distance between the VCR and TV. - Typically a frozen still picture from a VCR. If the 4:3 picture format is used; the fixed images on the sides of the screen may remain visible on the screen.

Connect the RF antenna out socket of the VCR to the Antenna socket on the set. Connect the antenna cable to the RF antenna in socket of the VCR. Set VCR output switch to 3 or 4 and then tune TV to the same channel number. Insert a video tape into the VCR and press PLAY on the VCR. (Refer to the VCR owners manual.)

If you have a mono VCR, connect the audio cable from the VCR to the AUDIO L/MONO jack of the set. This TV finds the connected input sources automatically for AV1, AV2 and Component 1-2. It is presumed that RGB and HDMI/DVI sources are connected.

Connect the S-VIDEO output of the VCR to the SVIDEO input on the set. The picture quality is improved; compared to normal composite (RCA cable) input. Connect the audio outputs of the VCR to the AUDIO input jacks on the set. Insert a video tape into the VCR and press PLAY on the VCR. (Refer to the VCR owners manual.) Select AV1 input source with using the INPUT button on the remote control. - If connected to AV IN2, select AV2 input source.

Turning on the TV
1. First, connect power cord correctly. At this moment, the TV switches to standby mode. - There are two different ways in order to add or delete scanned channels. One is "Custom List" and the other is "Favorite List" in the channel list. Both of them are available after EZ Scan on the SETUP menu. - A Custom List can be created by toggling each channel on or off with ENTER button. The channels in the Custom List are displayed in black color, and the channels deleted from the Custom List are displayed in gray color. Once a channel is highlighted you can add or delete the channel by referring to the small window at the top-left corner of the screen.You can create your own Favorite List. Press the RATIO button repeatedly to select the desired picture format. You can also adjust Aspect Ratio in the OPTION menu. Set By Program Selects the proper picture proportion to match the sources image. (4:3 4:3, 16:9 16:9) 4:3 Choose 4:3 when you want to view a picture with an original 4:3 aspect ratio, with gray bars appearing at both the left and right sides. 16:9 Choose 16:9 when you want to adjust the picture horizontally, in a linear proportion to fill the entire screen. Horizon Choose Horizon when you want to adjust the picture in a non-linear proportion, that is, more enlarged at both sides, to create a panorama view. Zoom 1 Choose Zoom 1 when you want to view the picture without any alteration. However, the top and bottom portions of the picture will be cropped. Zoom 2 Choose Zoom 2 when you want the picture to be altered, both horizontally extended and vertically cropped. The picture taking a halfway trade off between alteration and screen coverage. Cinema Zoom Choose Cinema Zoom when you want to enlarge the picture in correct proportion. Note: When enlarging or reducing the picture, the image may become distorted. You can adjust the enlarge proportion of Cinema Zoom using D / E button. The adjustment range is 1~16.

Block Channel.: Select a channel number that you wish to block. Input block: Enables you to select a source to block from the external source devices you have hooked up.
W For USA Movie Rating (MPPA): Blocks movies according to the movie ratings limits specified, so children cannot view certain movies. You can set the ratings limit by blocking out all the movies with the ratings above a specified level. Keep in mind that the movie ratings limit only applies to movies shown on TV, not TV programs, such as soap operas. TV Rating-Children: Prevents children from watching certain children's TV programs, according to the ratings limit set. The children rating does not apply to other TV programs. Unless you block certain TV programs intended for mature audiences in the TV Rating - sub menu, your children can view those programs.

Test your remote control. To find out whether your remote control can operate the component without programming, turn on the component such as a VCR and press the corresponding MODE button (VCR) on the remote control, while illuminating on the selected component. Test the POWER button to see if the component responds properly. If not, the remote requires programming to operate the device. Turn on the component to be programmed, then press the corresponding MODE button on the remote control. Press the MENU and MUTE buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds, the button selected component lights on the remote control. If you don't press any button for 20 seconds, the button selected component will turn off on the remote control. At a moment, you have to repeat from step 2. Enter a code number using the number buttons on the remote. When pressing the button, the light is blinked at a time. Programming code numbers for the corresponding component can be found on the following pages. Again, if the code is correct, the device will turn off. Press the MENU button to store the code. After blinking twice, this code is stored. Test the remote control functions to see if the component responds properly. If not, repeat from step 2.
