Ohio County Local Coordinating Committee Citizens for a Drug Free Community October 3, 2011

Attendees: Janie Eldridge, Gary Eldridge, Jascia Robinson, Amber Johnson, Sarah Slayback, Laura Rolf, Kim Linkel, Tina Keller, Gayla Kaibel, Mary Frances and Lissa Pogue.
Janie Eldridge called the meeting to order.

Minutes
October Minutes were approved by Gary Eldridge and second by Amber Johnson. Minutes were passed.

Treasurers Report $775 remaining in the discretionary fund. There $0 dollars in the other accounts $50 outstanding bill for the Red Ribbon Week Campaign. Current Balance $19,500. Youth Report No one present to report. Regional Report
Kim Linkle indicated the we where still trying to secure Community Mental Heath Numbers for the CCP. She reported that beginning in January their will be 3 Program Managers each will be assigned about 30 counties. This person will not come into the community but will be in Indianapolis. Governors Commission is this unclear on who will have these positions. All states will have to go thru the state to get it paid it will be tough time because Comprehensive Plan has to go through these people, too. Its important to continue to stay on top of things. Laura advised getting grants together by February or March and they would be awarded in April. Laura proposed Plan in October, Grants in February and Grants awarded in April. Gary felt that that would be to late for some grantees. Garys concern Ohio County will be discounted or over shadowed by the bigger counties. Kim stated that we will not have to worry about that for a year because our 2012 grants are ready to go and will be approved at the December meeting .

Old Business Judge Humphrey and Magistrate KimSchmaltz judged the art work for the Red Ribbon week campaign Good participation. Shawn Harper did a great presentation for the school kids he is a former lineman for the Indianapolis Colts. He came a reduced price and his presentation was well worth the money spent. New Business. 2012 Officers Debbie Thomason will stay as President, Janie Eldridge will stay as Vice President and Karen Ernest will remain as Secretary. Current Treasurer Gary Eldridge will look for a replacement. Office vote will be tabled until next month. 2012 Grants submitted Debbie will talk with grant committee from last year to see if they will review this years grants. You have the organizations that submitted grants and the amounts in the summary.

Janie has copies of grants today if anyone has questions. Grant committee will meet and make recommendations next month. LCC Assessment Lengthy discussion please see attached LCC Assessment form. Announcements Janie will sent around flyer from the First Baptist Church Drug Free Campaign which includes monthly talks. Mary Frances announced the Community Health Status Survey for Adults it will be an oversampling from Dearborn, Ripley, Franklin, Ohio and Switzerland Counties which will include Alcohol Binge Drinking, Prescription Drug and Tobacco should be done by December 2011.
