“Bits and Pieces of Info to Make Life on the Ranch Easier to Manage”
What’s Happening Around TownWe have enjoyed a delightful week of schooland had lots of fun with our special activitiesfor Dr. Seuss’ birthday! It is especially neat tosee that more and more of the students work islooking like first-grade work, and that is terrificbecause we will only have about two and a half months left of kindergarten by the time we get to the end of this upcoming week! I will be shar-ing information concerning your child’s progress toward being ready for first grade at conferenc-es and trust it will encourage your heart! As we head into the last two weeks beforespring break, we continue to focus on adding fact families one through seven, identifying thenumber that comes before another number, counting by ones, tens, and fives, and telling time to the hour and half-hour. I encourageyou to look for ways to practice these skills in the daily routine of life, even over spring break! The simple, short practices of adding two Chee-rios plus three Cheerios will make a difference! We have been doing much more reading andwriting each day and have been focusing onlearning many sight words including the, and, is,has, an, a, and, see, to, go, can, like, up, my, andsaid as well as color and number words. We arealso practicing identifying and reading specialsounds, and we will be adding spl (splash) to ourspecial sound list this week!We continue to learn about transportationas we travel around the globe, and we’ll be stop-ping in the Netherlands this week for a visit!Have a terrific weekend!
