music, surf the Internet, play games, use educational apps, watch YouTube videos, and listen to podcasts to name a few possible tasks.

Tool: iPad Web Address: http://www.apple.com/ipad/ Summary of Site: The iPad is a tablet computer that allows you to easily take your
work on the road. It has all the features of the iPod Touch but in a bigger format with a 9hour battery. Another great feature to the iPad is that it comes alive almost instantly after turning the power on. The iPad can also be used as an eReader to read pdf files and books. It also provides the opportunity to make textbooks interactive by including video, audio, and hyperlinks right in the textbook file. With all of the learning apps available and the portability features, the iPad is a perfect fit with education.

the square made up of black symbols. QR codes are similar to barcodes that when scanned take you to a specific website.

Tool: Siftables Web Address: http://alumni.media.mit.edu/~dmerrill/siftables.html Summary of Site: Siftables are a new technology developed at the MIT Media Lab.
They are small cubes that can sense their neighbors to the sides in order to interact with each other.

Tool: Prezi Web Address: http://prezi.com/ Summary of Site: Prezi is online presentation software that can be an alternative to
Microsoft PowerPoint. Rather than having the presenter click through slides, Prezi allows the audience to fly through a presentation by enabling presenters to zoom in and out of their presentation media.

Tool: Microsoft PowerPoint Web Address: Summary of Site: Microsoft PowerPoint is a proprietary software program that is
included in the Microsoft Office Suite. PowerPoint is often used as a visual aide for many classroom presentations. Users of PowerPoint are able to include pictures, videos, sound, animations, and transitions into the PowerPoint presentation.

Tool: Wordle (word cloud) Web Address: http://www.wordle.net/ Summary of Site: A word clouds is a visual representation of data typically using
words. You may decide to place a topic in the middle and then surround the topic with other words that are associated with the topic.

physics in a digital environment. Phun provides a method of learning physics through doing.

a level using portals to get to the exit. There are a total of 40 levels ready to challenge your problem solving skills.

free download that you can use to create animations.

Tool: Comic Life Web Address: http://comiclife.com/ Summary of Site: Comic Life lets you create comics, picture books, and more. Tool: Photobooth Web Address: Summary of Site: Photobooth is a picture application that is available for the Mac OS
and iOS. It allows you to take pictures of yourself using the iSight camera and also to add some wacky effects to your pictures.

Audio Creation and Editing

Tool: Podcast Web Address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast Summary of Site: Podcasts are audio files that are saved as mp3 files and available
online to download and listen to at a later time. There are many educational podcasts that are available through iTunes or other websites. To create your own podcast all you need to do is record yourself speaking and save it as an mp3 file. You do not need an iPod to listen to podcasts as they are just an audio file.

editing sounds and audio files. It is possible to use Audacity to create podcasts or even edit songs so to remove explicit lyrics.

editing sounds and audio files. It is possible to use GarageBand to create podcasts or even edit songs so to remove explicit lyrics. You can also use GarageBand to create your own musical creations.
