FADE IN: INT. THE SHRINK #1S OFFICE - DAY ALYA (16) who has blonde, long hair, a round face and who is not very tall enters a room. It has a big wooden table and a big, black leather couch in front of it. A middle aged SHRINK welcomes her with a big smile. She shakes Alyas hand, they both sit. The dialogs are in Turkish. SHRINK #1 So, Alya what brings you here? ALYA Why do you keep saying this? You know why Im here. INT. THE SHRINK #2S OFFICE - DAY A male SHRINK (#2) who is around 50 is sitting across Alya on a beige couch. SHRINK #2 Okay, then tell me how this happened. INT. THE SHRINK #3S OFFICE - DAY A serious female SHRINK (#3) who is over 50 is sitting across Alya on a big red chair. ALYA (smiling like she is making fun of her a little) Will you tie me up if I dont tell you? INT. THE SHRINK #1S OFFICE - DAY SHRINK #1 (with a big smile) Its just that life is too short and it will end without even noticing. Youve been through a lot of changes, I know but youre so young and life has many wonderful sides. Even though you may not have seen many of them yet, you will eventually. (CONTINUED)

Alya looks at her confused. Shrink #1 still has a big smile on her face. ALYA Oh, youll give me some pot now? INT. THE SHRINK #2S OFFICE - DAY SHRINK #2 You have a boyfriend right? ALYA Right. SHRINK #2 Can the situation be related with anything sexual? ALYA Yes, he is into men. I dont know what to do. SHRINK #2 I think your sarcasm has something underneath it. Lets try to solve this. Maybe he didnt want you sexually. Maybe he cheated on you with someone else. Maybe you caught them and felt horrible. Alya tilts her head. ALYA Do you need someone to talk to? Im a great listener. INT. THE SHRINK #3S OFFICE - DAY The shrink #3 looks at Alya seriously and a little pissed. Alya is lying on the couch, her eyes are closed, her tongue is out. Acting like she is dead. ALYA (opening her eyes) What? You wanted the whole story.

INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT Rushing Hande (25) into the hospital. She is pregnant and very much in pain. The nurses and the doctor quickly takes her to the delivery room as Semih (27) goes back and forth in front of the door of the delivery room. They speak English from now on. NARRATOR Actually the whole story was a little more complicated and it all started here. The relatives start coming and talking to Semih. INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT All of the relatives are sitting here and there looking tired, some of them are sleeping. Semih is sitting on the ground in front of the door. NARRATOR In the morning the doctor came out of the delivery room. Apparently he was the first person I gave a hard time to. DOCTOR (in Turkish) The baby just refused to come out. We had to do a Caesarean. The baby comes out from the delivery room in a nurses arms, with a pink blanket. Everyone excitingly goes towards the baby. NARRATOR My grandmother says that I was not crying at all when I was born and it was because I was so brave and smart. I think it was because of the narcosis. INT. BEDROOM - DAY A blue babys room with a lot of blue stuff. The baby is in a crib, sleeping. Hande is right by her side and Semih is next to them with a book in his hands.

NARRATOR I was expected to be a "Can", but since I was missing the necessary apparatus, I was nameless for almost a week. Then they got a book of baby names. "Alya" is the evidence of the hours they spent searching. INT. AIRPORT -DAY Hande and Alya are in front of a counter where the passports are being checked. Hande is giving the passports to the OFFICER who is in charge. Alya is looking at the officer behind the counter. She is on her finger tips in order to see him. NARRATOR When I was 4, my mom got a job opportunity in the States. She took me with her. The officer smiles at her. OFFICER Hi there! Alya gets embarrased and hides back behind the counter. INT. KINDERGARTEN - DAY A kindergarten with two TEACHERS and almost 15 children. There are many toys all around the room. Most of them are plastic and colorful. Some of the children are playing with the toys. The others are looking at Alya. Alya is on the ground crying, screaming and kicking. One of the teachers is on the phone. NARRATOR I didnt know the language yet but I managed to make myself heard. TEACHER We really cannot understand her. The things she is saying are not on the list you gave us. Maybe if you could talk to her... The teacher gives the phone to Alya. Alya takes the phone as she sniffs. She talks to her mother.

NARRATOR I just wanted some water. Alya gives the phone back to the teacher. INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT A modern decorated restaurant with steel tables and big red chairs. Alya, Hande and Handes friends are sitting all together having dinner. Alya is talking with the others with a confident attitude. NARRATOR I learned English so fast and I wanted to show it in every possible situation. I was even criticizing my mother. As a waiter passes by the table Hande turns towards the waiter. HANDE (with a little Turkish accent) Can I have more water please? WAITER Certainly. Alya turns towards Hande. ALYA "Water" is not pronounced like that! The "t" is more like a "d". "Water". See? HANDE Oh? Okay Im sorry. My bad. Hande and her friends are surprised. They smile and laugh politely. INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY A living room with a big gray couch which is leaned to one of the walls. There is a television which is right across the couch. The wall to wall carpet on the ground. There is a glass dining table and steel chairs on the other side of the room. Alya (5) is sitting crossed-legged in front of the television and staring at it with wide open eyes. Almost not blinking at all.

CONTINUED: NARRATOR When I was 5 my mom did something that was to be the turning point of my life. She brought home the video cassette of my first Disney movie, Aladdin. Everything stays the same, only Alyas clothes keep changing. NARRATOR I hadnt seen anything more beautiful before. I was watching it almost everyday. It had a huge influence on me. I was very angry when my mom refused to buy me a pet tiger. EXT. THE FRONT OF AN APARTMENT - DAY

A carpet is seen from the window of a apartment which is not high very much. NARRATOR I was hugely disappointed by the fact that our carpets did not fly. The window is seen closer. Alya gets near the window and tries to get on the carpet. ALYA Okay carpet. Take me to dad! Hande sees Alya, runs to her and catches her just as she is about to jump. Hande looks very scared. The carpet falls down from the window. Alya looks after it. When it lands on the ground Alya looks frustrated. ALYA I cant believe it! Alya gets down from Handes arms and walks out of the room angrily. INT. ALYAS BEDROOM - NIGHT A little girls bedroom with lots of girl toys. Barbies, plastic kitchen accessories, etc. Almost everything in the room is pink. The lamp, pillows, the chair etc. Alya (6) is singing along with a song of the Little Mermaid which is coming from a tape. She is dancing and acting as if she were Arial at the same time. NARRATOR The fairy tale world became my reality. I believed that my life was going to be exactly like them. One day my mom gave me the worst news in my life. Hande (31), enters the room and smiles. HANDE (in Turkish) You are amazing! But you have to go to sleep now, so you can be even more amazing tomorrow, okay? Alya turns off the tape and gets into her bed. ALYA (in Turkish only "mermaids" in English) Mommy, I want to see some mermaids. Where can we find them? Hande caresses Alyas hair. HANDE (in Turkish) Sweetheart, mermaids dont exist in the real world. They are only in fairy tales. Alya lies in her bed with a shocked and almost crying face. Hande looks worried. HANDE Sweety? Alya screams as loud as she can. NARRATOR I couldnt sleep that night. And another few nights. Hande tries to calm Alya down. INT. KITCHEN - DAY Alya is sitting next to the kitchen table. There is some food in front of her but she is not eating. She has the same expression on her face, shocked and almost crying.

NARRATOR I couldnt cope. She stays the same and doesnt move. INT. PARENTS BEDROOM - DAY Alya rushes into Handes room. Hande is sleeping. Alya wakes Hande up. HANDE (in Turkish) Honey what happened? ALYA (in Turkish) We have to go to the library! (as she gets out of the room) Come on! Hande barely opens her eyes and looks at the clock which is on the drawer next to the bed and shakes her head. HANDE (murmuring) Alya.. Alya.. Hande gets out of the room Alya is talking nonstop. EXT. LIBRARY - DAY Alya and Hande are in front of the library. Alya is stomping her foot on the ground. A lady appears gets close to the librarys door, takes out a key from her pocket and opens the door. Alya goes inside after the lady. ALYA Finally. Alya goes to one of the sections and takes out a lot of National Geographic Kids books. NARRATOR That day I found a tiny little article that there may have been mermaids long time ago. Alya shows it to Hande with excitement. Hande smiles.

INT. CAR - DAY Alya is sleeping in the back of the car as they return home. Hande is driving. Looks at Alya from the mirror, smiles, shakes her head. INT. CLASSROOM - DAY A classroom with small desks. Every four desk has been put together in order to make the students see each other. There are names on each desk. Also there are many drawings, a calender, a board which helps to measure the students heights, etc. on the walls. A TEACHER is sitting on her table. She is in her early 30s. She has brown, short curly hair, hazel eyes and she is wearing glasses. NARRATOR I started preschool a year after. Almost everyone was calling me "Ally". I was very happy with my new name. I had a great teacher and a great class. We were getting along very well even though we werent that similar. Some were "too quiet", "too lazy", "too active". I was "too social". Hande enters the classroom, smiles and goes towards the teacher. The teacher smiles, gets up and shakes Handes hand. Hande sits on one of the chairs in the classroom. TEACHER Thank you for meeting me. I wanted to talk about a few things about Ally. She is a great kid. She is so smart, so loving, incredibly generous. Everyone loves her so much. She fit in more than everyone. The only thing is she always wants to tell something exciting to her friends while Im teaching. The kids are so curious about her stories so it becomes difficult for me to teach. I tried to talk to her and Ill continue to do my best and convince her. I just wanted you to know. But actually the main thing I wanted to talk to you about were these. The teacher shows Alyas drawings to Hande. They are all related with her father. In one of them all three of them (CONTINUED)

are in a castle. Everyones name is written underneath. Also next to Alya "Princess" is written and "King" and "Queen" next to Hande and Semih. A few tears roll down from Handes cheeks. INT. AIRPORT - DAY Atatrk Airport which is in Istanbul. Alya is holding a stewardess hand. She is holding a stuffed toy, a panda with her other hand. The stewardess is pulling Alyas pink luggage which had the Disney princess pictures with her other hand. NARRATOR Of course I was missing my dad! I was a little girl! So mom decided to send me to Turkey during the summer break. Alya and the stewardess pass a sliding door and there is a big crowd there. Semih gets through the crowd and runs to his daughter. Alya smiles with joy. ALYA Daddy! Semih holds Alya in his arms with a big smile. SEMIH (in Turkish) My beautiful little girl! Youve got taller and even more beautiful! Semih turns to the stewardess. SEMIH Thank you. STEWARDESS Not at all. She is adorable. Stewardess leaves the luggage and goes to the other direction. Semih heads towards the exit of the airport with Alya in one arm. He pulls the luggage with the other hand. EXT. STREET - DAY A site with many small, cute houses. Alya is holding her aunt ILGINs hand. Ilgn is in her 30s, she is tall and she has dark, straight hair. They are walking on the side of a street. Alya is looking left, then right, then left again, then the back. She looks so curious. (CONTINUED)

NARRATOR My dad took me to Izmir, so that I could see the folks. Gradmas, grandpa, aunt, uncle, etc. Everything was so different in Turkey. The people, the environment, even the colors were different. I was so amazed by all of these stuff. Alya looks at a houses garden. There is a small pool in the garden and there is a watermelon in it in order to keep it cool. Alya stops and goes near the pool with a big curiosity. ALYA Oh my God! Ilgn goes after her and at the same time a LADY who is chubby,in her late 50s and is the owner of the house appears from the garden. The lady looks at Alya with a smile and turns towards Ilgn. LADY (in Turkish) Is she a foreigner? ILGIN (in Turkish) Oh shes my niece. She is living in the States. LADY Oh! Hi, how are you? What is your name? Alya looks at the lady. Ilgn bends towards Alya. ILGIN (in Turkish) Come on Alya talk to the nice lady. Answer her. Alya frowns. She looks at the lady with a grumpy face. NARRATOR I hated when they asked me to speak in English. What am I? A monkey? Ilgn looks at Alya and the lady. She gets even closer to Alya.

ILGIN (in Turkish) Come on baby! Show her how great your English is. Alya looks at Ilgn with a even more grumpy face. She whispers. ALYA (in Turkish) I dont want to! Ilgn smiles at the lady kindly and a little embarassed. Alya leaves Ilgn there and continues to walk on the side of the street by herself. INT. AIRPORT - DAY Reagan National Airport. Hande is waiting with a crowd. The door opens and Alya appears. She looks chubby and she is holding a stewardess hand. She is holding the same panda with her other hand. Hande looks surprised as she gets through the crowd. Alya sees her and smiles. Hande smiles back. NARRATOR Mom who couldnt put anything in my mouth other than yogurt and pepperoni pizza was surprised of the fact that I had been eaten... Well... Everything. I looked like a muffin. Alya runs to Hande. Hande hugs and kisses her with a big smile. INT. CLASSROOM - DAY A classroom which is very similar with her preschool classroom but there are also other things on the wall. There is a spelling board which shows how to spell some hard words. There is a board with lots of numbers related with some math problems. The desks are organized the same, they are grouped four by four and they are all facing each other. There is a white board on one side, and small lockers on another side. Alya and her classmates rush into the classroom. Their teacher Ms. Brotman enters the room right after them and closes the door.

MS BROTMAN But you all messed up your line again. Alya looks at Ms. Brotman with an innocent face. ALYA But Ms. Brotman were not ants. The classmates laugh, Ms. Brotman cant help helself and smiles. She walks towards Alya, gently pinches her nosetip. MS BROTMAN I wish you all, were ants. Especially you! Alya giggles with a spoiled attitude. Ms. Brotman puts her hands together and looks at the class. MS BROTMAN Okay, since its Friday I will show you a very good movie, I think youll all enjoy it. The whole class cheers. They start moving in their seats with joy and make a lot of noise. MS BROTMAN (a little louder) Now if youre going to act like this I have to organize something else where you will be quiet. They all get silent. MS BROTMAN Lets get into our line silently. We should be respectful to the other classes right? If you make any noise we will have to return to class immediately. All of the children get into line two by two, silently. Ms Brotman goes to the door after they finish getting into their line. MS BROTMAN Now slowly and silently okay? Ms. Brotman opens the door and leaves the classroom. The children follow her.

INT. TELEVISION ROOM - DAY A television room with a few chairs and many cushions on the floor. The floor is covered with carpet grey from wall to wall. There is a big television on a television console which is leaned against a wall. There is a video player on the shelf underneath the television. There is a big steel cabinet next to the television console with lots of video cassettes on its shelves. The children sit on the cushions on the floor. Some of them move the cushions from their places in order to be closer to the television. MS BROTMAN No, no not that close. Ms. Brotman takes one of the childrens hand and gets him up. She takes his cushion and puts it further from the television. MS BROTMAN Nobody gets more closer to the television from this point okay? Its very bad for your eyes. The children listen to their teacher and sit the way she told them to. Ms. Brotman takes a video cassette from the shelf. MS BROTMAN No talking during the movie okay? If you have something urgent to say come to me quietly. Ms. Brotman turns on the television and puts the video cassette into the video cassette player. She presses play on the player. The children are looking at the screen with curiosity. The title "The Sound of Music" appears on the screen. JULIE ANDREWS appears after the title. Alya is looking at the television with wide open eyes. JULIE ANDREWS (singing) The hills are alive with the sound of music... Alyas eyes open even more she is not moving at all. ALYA Uh-oh. The song goes on. Alya is looking at the screen like she is hypnotized.

INT. PLANE - DAY Hande and Alya are on the plane. Alya is looking from the window and singing. She does not know the German words "auf wiedersehen" so she makes that part up. ALYA (singing) So long, farewell "ovindusey" goodnight! NARRATOR This was even worse than the Disney movies! I was chirping like a chubby spring bird all the time! I dont know why my mom never said "shut up!". Actually she had her own problems. We were returning to Turkey. She didnt want to, but couldnt leave dad. All that singing probably got her further from her thoughts. Or maybe it made her suicidal. That is a higher possibility I guess. Alya continues to sing while Hande tries to sleep. INT. SCHOOL - DAY Alya and Hande are walking side by side in an elementary schools corridor. Alya is looking around with a surprised almost terrified face. The corridor has grey marble tiles on the floor, white walls and dark green boards hung up on walls. There are some white papers pinned to these boards with some writings on them. NARRATOR Returning to Turkey wasnt at all how I expected it to be. As I and my mom walked along the corridor I expected a door which opened to somewhere where they kept all of the colors. Kinda like "Alice in Wonderland". I didnt mind to become huge or shrink into the size of a virus. I wasnt even expecting "all the colors of the rainbow" or anything. Maybe just a blue or red or yellow.

Hande stops in front of the door which is written "vice principle" on the name plate next to the door. She knocks the door and a woman in her late 50s who is the VICE PRINCIPLE opens the door. She looks at them and smiles. Hande smiles too, Alya doesnt. VICE PRINCIPLE (in Turkish) Hi! Im glad to see you! The vice principle kisses Hande on her cheeks. HANDE (in Turkish) You too. Sorry were a little late. Im just not used to the roads yet. There are no signs or anything. VICE PRINCIPLE (in Turkish) Oh Honey, welcome back to Turkey. She bends a little to get closer to Alya. VICE PRINCIPLE (in Turkish) And this pretty girl must be Alya. NARRATOR When she got closer I figured out where they kept all of those colors. As she got more and more closer I was becoming more and more into black and white. Oldies... They had a point. The vice principle holds Alyas face between her hands and kisses her both cheaks. Alya shuts her eyes instantly when she kisses her. She looks very disturbed. VICE PRINCIPLE (in Turkish) Okay, now we can go to your class! As they leave the vice principles room Alya holds on Handes hand tightly and looks at her like a puppy. Handes eyes get wet. She puts her other hand on her little daughters hand. HANDE (only her lips move) I love you.

The vice principle stops in front of a classroom. Hande and Alya stop too. Vice principle looks at Alya. VICE PRINCIPLE (in Turkish) I will intoduce you to someone as sweet as you! She knocks the door and enters. Alya looks at her mother, hardly smiles and goes after the vice principle. The teacher Ms. Ayan who is in her early 50s a little chubby, who has short dark hair and big glasses walks toward them with a big smile. She looks at Alya. MS AYAN (in Turkish) Hi Alya Im Ms. Ayan. I was expecting you! Alya doesnt say anything, she only looks around. There are desks for two in three rows. Nobody is smiling, everyone is just checking her out from head to toe. Everyone is wearing a uniform. The girls have dark red skirts, white shirts and dark green sweaters on top of the shirts. The boys had the similar shirts and sweaters, they also had grey pants. All of the girls hairs were either made a ponytail or braided. Everyone had dark shoes. Alya looks down at her pink t-shirt, jeans and white shoes with pink details. MS AYAN (in Turkish) Its okay for today but we have to come to school with uniforms okay? NARRATOR It was official. I was in hell. Actually hell would probably be more interesting with those fires and all. The vice principle leaves the room. MS AYAN (in Turkish) Everyone, Alya has just came back from the States. I hope youll help her getting used to here. Ms. Ayan points at an empty seat in the front row next to a short, chubby boy with dark curly hair. (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: MS AYAN (in Turkish) Caner wont be here for a while so you can sit on his seat for now. We will figure something out when he comes back.

Alya sits on the empty seat. Ms. Ayan goes near the blackboard on wall. Alya looks at the small writings on the board. MS AYAN (in Turkish) Okay we can continue. "a, , o, u" are back vowels... Alya looks at the boy next to him he is writing the things on the board like crazy. She takes off her pink backpack and takes a notebook with colorful pages. NARRATOR I had no idea what she was talking about, so I decided to write, or lets say tried to write. The boy next to him looks at Alyas notebook. When he gets closer she sees that he has dried flems around his nostrils. She looks disgusted. The boy whos name is Vehbi raises his hand. VEHBI (in Turkish) Ms. Ayan! Ms. Ayan MS AYAN (in Turkish) Yes, Vehbi. Vehbi points at Alya. VEHBI (in Turkish) She is writing them all wrong! Alya looks at her with anger. NARRATOR Anger. I dont think I had felt anything like that before. I was hoping that he will choke with his own flems right that moment. Ms. Ayan gets closer to Alya.

NARRATOR I was thinking now shes gonna kick his ass. An ass was kicked, but the target was different. Ms. Ayan looks at Alyas notebook. MS AYAN (in Turkish) You are mixing up the vowels. You should be more careful. Alya frowns. Ms. Ayan goes back near the blackboard. Alya continues to write. Vehbi tries to look at her notebook again. She covers it with her left arm. Looks at him as she is threathening him. EXT. SCHOOL YARD - DAY Alya is wandering around the school yard. There is a basketball and soccer field, some wooden benches and few small areas with some flowers. As she walks around, she sees a three girls who are getting closer to her. They stand in front of her. PELIN (in Turkish) So, you came here from the states huh? ALYA (in Turkish) Yes. Pelin laughs. PELIN (in Turkish) Oh she even has a little accent! ALYA (in Turkish) Whats so funny? PELIN (in Turkish) You are! Your blonde hair, spoiled attitude. What are you doing here? Oh I havent noticed but youre a little chubby too.

The three girl laugh as they leave. Alya looks so angry, she is about to cry. She walks very fast and goes inside the building. INT. SCHOOL - DAY She gets inside the building. She cant help her tears roll down. She is singing silently as she looks around. ALYA (singing) Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings. These are a few of my favorite things. She sees the toilets and runs inside. ALYA (singing) When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when Im feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things and then I dont feel so bad. She gets near the sink and washes her face. DERIN (in Turkish) Dont listen to them. They dont have anything else to do other than bothering people. Alya turns and sees a tall, thin girl with dark hair and dark eyes. Derin smiles. DERIN (in Turkish) Im Derin. ALYA (in Turkish) Hi, Im Alya. DERIN (in Turkish) I know. Were in the same class. You have the right to freak out. Dont worry everythings gonna be fine. (CONTINUED)

Alya smiles. Derin smiles back. NARRATOR And after her, it was fine. They both leave the toilets. INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY Alyas and her familys living room. There are big colorful couches with wooden details. Alya and Derin are sitting on one of the couches side by side looking at the television screen. A song from "Sound of Music", "Do-Re-Mi" is heard. NARRATOR She thought me how to survive in this rough place, so, as a thank you I shared my place to escape from the "rough". Derin speaks as she is looking at the screen. DERIN (in Turkish) I dont understand most of them but I cant stop looking! Its amazing! Hande enters the room with some sandwiches and orange juice. Alya looks at Hande and smiles. EXT. SCHOOL YARD - DAY Alya (11) is sitting with Derin and some other kids. They are all talking and laughing. NARRATOR It was different I was aware of it. But I had my mom and dad with me, had a great friend and made more. Everything got better and better. The school bell rings and they get up as they continue their conversation. INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT Alya (13) is sitting on the couch looking at the television screen in the living room.

CONTINUED: NARRATOR Of course I got help whenever Im depressed. I guess I was slowly realizing the fact that reality is much different than this fantasy world. I was giving up on expecting them to happen and see them as some kind of an anti-depressant. Alya turns off the television and stares at the black screen.

CUT TO BLACK Hospital sounds and people who are running around can be heard. They speak Turkish from now on. DOCTOR (voice only) Alya, I need you to swallow after I put this through your nose, okay? Can you hear me? FADE IN: INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT Alya (16) opens her eyes. Shakes her head instead of saying "yes". The doctor directs a long straw to her nose. She looks disturbed and closes her eyes one more time and the screen goes black again. ALYA Aaahhh! Do we have to do this? Seriously?! DOCTOR Unfortunately we do.. ALYA I think Im gonna throw up now. Nurse grabs the trash can and places it near Alya. INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY Derin enters the room where Alya is lying on the bed with a serum attached to her arm and a heartbeat monitor attached to her finger. Derin has a flower and some books and magazines in her hands. She gets closer to Alya with a worried face.

DERIN Hey.. ALYA Hey! Im so happy to see you! DERIN You okay? They didnt let me in til now I didnt now what to do so I went and bought... ALYA Uuuw Cosmo! Thank you!! God, Im starving. I wish they would just let me eat! Alya grabs the magazine from Derin and starts turning the pages immediately. DERIN Alya I was so worried, everybody was.. Youre mom and dad are coming back from Italy, Tolga is still shaking so they didnt let him in. I mean.. Youre acting like nothing happened, wanna talk to me about it? ALYA Whats to talk about? I was feeling bored. Then suddenly I hit rock-bottom. DERIN But everything looks perfect in your life. I mean youre parents, friends, boyfriend... ALYA Yeah, thanks to that. DERIN What? ALYA (sighs) I dont like him that way okay? I dont feel any excitement, any passion. Like hes my brother or something.

CONTINUED: DERIN Then why are you with him? ALYA (speaks quickly) Well, actually Im tired of believing that there is some kind of a perfect prince for me. Whenever I did they kept turning into frogs and not like those cute ones, those ugly, sticky ones that give you varts. DERIN (shakes her head) This is sick.. ALYA (widely opening her eyes) I know! DERIN (with a louder voice) No! Youre sick! This.. thing which you have done is sick! For what? For some stupid, spoiled ideas. You have no right to create chaos just for attention. ALYA What? A nurse enters the room. She looks at Derin. NURSE You need to leave the room. DERIN (to Alya) Yeah! Thats what youre all about! Creating drama! This one.. it was just too much. Im done. Just.. Whatever. Im out.

Alya looks after Derin. Nurse goes after her too. Everything slows down. She looks outside the window next to her bed. It is raining. She closes her eyes. She smiles but tears roll down her cheeks and to the pillow. She sings as her eyes stay closed. ALYA I am sixteen going on seventeen... FADE OUT.
