Unlike many HR software products, Frontier Software has designed all of its products around the concept of unlimited history. You never loose data, even when employees leave the organisation data is retained. Access to historical data is available at anytime.
Organisation charting
chris holds a staff members reporting relationship and this is necessary when extracting data for your chosen Organisation Charting product. New starters, leavers and transfers are reflected in the chart. Frontier Software provides interfaces to the popular charting products e.g. Org Plus and Org Publisher. Within our Employee and Manager Self Service product HR21, an employee can drill down to his / her reporting chart to display a mini chart.

Attachments
chris21 can now become your filing cabinet. Any document e.g. photograph, driving license, certificate of education / qualification or birth certificate can be attached to an employees record. An unlimited number of attachments can be stored and naturally data can only be viewed if you have the correct security access.
Customisation tools
Empowering the user to customise their system without affecting software upgrades is the dream of many HR software companies. Frontier Software has achieved this functionality that allows a user to add new screens (forms), amend the data dictionary, create user help and remove data items that are not required.
LDAP Authentication
This term stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and it relates to authenticating users with Enterprise Directories when they are logging into the system. Instead of each application maintaining its own database of user security information - a Directory Service, holds the security information for all users in the enterprise. Each application authenticates users against this central Directory Service using a standard called LDAP. Having the login id and password in one location and using LDAP enabled applications this provides the benefit of Same Sign On.

Simple specification and selection of data ensures that management reports can be delivered easily and quickly, while with just one click, data can be merged into Microsoft WordTM and / or ExcelTM. Comprehensive security facilities control exactly who can access information within the chris21 database, as well as the output created via this effective reporting tool. Unlimited extraction, analysis and reporting on your HR data means that reports can be generated in the format you require. Simply drag-and-drop data fields into the report layout and link ad-hoc reports to chris21 menus to make reporting by managers even easier. All chris21 standard reports present important management information. These reports contain parameters that give the user flexibility about the information that is selected and reported. Many of the reports have XML capability with templates supplied by Frontier Software. Produce output in XML and PDF format for integration with third-party tools such as Altovas XMLSPYTM and Adobe PDFTM. Users can also export data into Microsoft WordTM and ExcelTM using XML output and you can create a comprehensive, professionally presented report every time. Scheduling Any reports produced within chris21 can be scheduled for processing at a specific time and day of the week. Users can ensure report outputs are ready for review by management the moment they arrive on-site, while the appropriate output can be emailed to a number of recipients. This function provides a huge labour saving when producing reports.
Dashboard
A dashboard is an Executive Information System user interface that is designed to be easy to read. Graphs are displayed with a presentation of different chart types and you can drill down into a low level of data. A wide variety of metrics have been designed for the HR dashboard and Frontier Software have different dashboards for the diverse functions of HR. This graphical user interface will display summary graphs (e.g. bar charts, pie charts, bullet graphs etc.) and gauges with colours similar to traffic lights will be available. This self service module allows your employees to submit their expense claims online, view their expense records, query approval status and perform cancellations. It is a mandatory requirement of any business to maintain records of accidents and incidents that arise within the workplace. This module is well equipped to meet these objectives: naturally the flexibility of the product can be utilised to add additional information if required. The attachment feature allows unlimited photographs and documentary evidence to be stored for each accident/incident record.
JEV
If your organisation utilises a Job Evaluation system, then this module, offers the ability for key criteria and scores to be user defined for each position. Unlimited data history is a standard feature.
FLX
Many organisations now adopt a flexible approach to working times with the time conditions attached to an organisation HR Policy. The core working times and amount of hours to be worked within the stipulated period of time are allocated to the employee and when excess hours are worked accumulators hold the amounts. Taking time off (a flex day) then reduces the appropriate balance.
MC
Specific organisation sectors e.g. Health, Education, Government have a requirement to offer employees multiple contracts with different terms and conditions (awards). Pay adjustments
A simple method for making oneoff payments or deductions is provided in addition to base pay, overtime and allowances. Adjustments are automatically created when retrospective changes to salary or allowance are entered, while one-off or bulk adjustments can be made as required. You can even import spreadsheet data into chris21 without re-keying data. eg performance bonuses by using the Smart Import / Export Manager module.
Supplementary pay
There are choices when making payments to employees outside a scheduled pay run: Process the employee in a separate pay run Make the payment off-line and record the payment details in chris21 Either way, chris21 updates year-to-date totals, creates accounting entries and provides reconciliation reports.
Disbursement
Net pay can be disbursed via EFT (electronic funds transfer), cheque or cash.
Back pay
In many instances management never inform HR or the Payroll departments with any salary or allowance / benefit increases or decreases in time for the next pay-run. With chris21 this is nor an issue, simply enter the date and amount.

Advance payment
