Mobile phones affect blood glucose, serum proteins and number of brain neurons in rat

Celikozlu SD, MS Ozyurt, A Cimbiz, M. Yardimoglu, MK Cayci, Y Ozay (2012) The effects of longterm exposure of magnetic field via 900-MHz GSM radiation on some biochemical parameters and brain histology in rats. Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine Published online 7 June ahead of print http://informahealthcare.com/doi/abs/10.3109/15368378.2012.662192 Cell phones were placed on the walls of the cages and the rats were exposed to talk mode for 30 mins per day, standby mode for the rest of the day, (prenatal and through to day 80). Compared to the control groups, the cell phone exposure caused an increased blood glucose level from 96.52 5.64 mg/dl to 132.14 5.93 mg/dl an increased serum protein level from 131.14 6.19 mg/dl to 319.29 6.73 mg/dl 51.15% decrease in pyramidal neuron numbers

73% increase in ischemic neuron numbers at cortex region of brain _______________________________________________________
