4. What is PM-10?, Is PM-10 measured in your country? PM10 is small, solid or liquid particles of dust, ash, soot, metal particles, cement or pollen, dispersed in the atmosphere, whose diameter is less than 10.They consist mainly of inorganic compounds, such as silicates and aluminates, and other heavy metals and organic material associated with carbon particles (soot). The main sources of PM10 are: Pollution generated by combustion in cars Industry, construction and trade Dust Agricultural burning According to the WHO (World Health Organization) the recommended maximum level is 50 micrograms per cubic meter (microns). Below is a map showing the data on PM-10 in Europe for the period of 2006-2010.
