    Cultural barriers exist to implementing Western project management practices in Chinese enterprises due to differences between Chinese and Western management cultures. Chinese culture emphasizes harmony and centralized decision-making while project management focuses on integration and horizontal management. A study found that project management cannot be effectively implemented in China without project management training to address these cultural differences, and that such training has a significant impact on adapting project management approaches within Chinese enterprises in a sustainable way. Conducting a similar study in Indonesia would likely yield very similar results given the cultural similarities between China and Indonesia.

    Based on questionnaire, PM basically can not be implemented in China unless with PM training. PM training has critical impact on the culture Chinese enterprise. Chinese enterprises study and use of the PM approach are sustainable.

    Culture in Indonesia and China is not much different. If this study conducted in Indonesia, we believe that the result will be almost the same.
