Borgio The Besieger can be taken as a Lord choice, but he will use up one of your Hero choices as well. Taking Borgio counts as taking a Lord and a Hero. Borgio the Besieger was the greatest general ever to walk the land of Tilea. Borgio is renown for his expertise in the art of siege craft. It was said that no wall could keep him out and no fortress could discourage him. He was a brilliant tactician, and won almost all of his battle. Beyond the fact, that he was a renowned general; he was also a good Politician and ruler. His people and soldiers loved him. Loss after loss made his enemies bitter, which led them to send spies and assassins to "deal" with Borgio. Every one of them failed. For reasons that his rivals could not understand, Borgio the Besieger just would not die. This lasted for many years, until he was found in his bedchamber dead, killed by a poisoned snail fork. Some say that his wife, the ill-tempered older sister of Lucrezzia Belladonna, killed him. To this day no one knows for sure. The mercenary army that he leads has won victory after victory, leaving many villages in ashes and the population devoured by the monstrous regiments that follow his every word. His army was recently hired by the Senate of Remas to destroy the Lamian vampire, Maria Sarsosa. This former member of the Remas Senate was discovered when a mercenary captain came upon her feasting on a patrolling pike man. The vampire escaped from the city-state and began to raise an undead army to devastate Remas, and the people that had discovered her secret. Ghazak Khan had never battled a vampire before and was very eager to do battle with her. Ghazak Khan met Maria's army at the banks of the River Remo. Do to the war torn nature of Tilea, Maria was able to raise a large undead army quickly, which made her more then ready for an attack. Ghazak Khan sent outriders to the flank of the undead hoard and sent some of the monstrous regiments to wade up the river to catch the other flank. A few hours before dusk, Ghazak Khan launched his attack. Maria was completely caught off guard, because she had not even considered anyone would attack at night when she is the strongest. Khan's army began to break down the regiments of skeletons and zombies. As soon as night fell, Maria began to raise the fallen soldiers to swell the ranks of her army. At that exact moment the flanks of the hit by the outriders and monstrous regiments. The vampire's army began to crumble, and once again to her shock Ghazak Khan made another move that she has never expected. Leading a regiment of 200 plus wolfboyz, Ghazak Khan was driving up the center of the undead hoard with one purpose in mind, combat with vampire. When Khan met the vampire in hand to hand, Maria was surprised that her speed held no advantage against the green skinned general. The vampire blasted Ghazak Khan with a bolt of black magic, which caused the wind demon bond to the hobgoblins helm to be released. This forced Maria to the ground and Ghazak Khan lopped her head clean off. As the sun rose the undead crumbled into dust. Minas The Mean

Midas The Mean counts as hero and special choice. If you choose to field Midas The Mean in your army he is counted as being the army's Paymaster. He must be fielded exactly as presented here and no extra equipment or magic items can be bought for him. The most infamous paymaster to ever come out of Tilea is Midas the Mean. Midas is so greedy that he has not only stolen gold from the generals that hired him, but he has stolen entire paychests. Midas was first recognized as a great paymaster in Sartosa, in the employ of the dwarf pirate lord, Gridi Scumbeard. The dwarf pirate admired Midas's meanness and reluctance to part with even the smallest amount of gold. When a small army of Arabian Crosiers came to slay Gridi and rob his vaults; they discovered the vaults empty and the pirate's paymaster missing. Midas turned up later in the service of the Merchant Prince of Verezzo. Midas and his hand picked henchmen defended the paychest in many glorious battles. When it came to paying the mercenaries, Midas paid them so little that they lynched the merchant prince. Midas has turned up in far off lands, offering his services as paymaster to mercenary armies or serving as a tax collector, gold counter, or a treasure hider for some lord or baron. Although many of his employers have met with rather nasty ends, Midas has never let a paychest fall in to the hands of the enemy, or for that matter the hands of the fleeing mercenaries who have just lost the battle.
