Remembering Typewriters I was reading an article the other day about how the computer age and the

tools used in its progression has become an extension of who we are. Before all of this technology became available there was a time when the lack of it also influenced who we were. My computer, which is called a machine, has become such an essential part of my life. Yes, Id be lost without it. It is in a sense a part of me because I need it to bring words to life But, before computers there were the old typewriters. Ive had one or maybe even two in the past. They worked just fine for writers before the invention of the computer. It was words written with those old fashioned type writers which wrote the fiction which became fact. It was the word s that were written on those old machines that told of the days that we would be using technology in just the way we are now. Just like in the Twilight ZoneIm just sayinSeriously. I miss those days of old fashioned typewriters and photojournalists that brought to life what was going on in Vietnam the moon and Hiroshima. And, they did they did it in such a way, that at that particular time in history, it influenced us to see what heights of achievement mankind could accomplish without infringing on our privacy. Or at least we thought so. . After all it was at least 45 years before 9/11 and the Patriot Act. Im jus sayin The stories our machines write about now seem to be not so much about how the world is changing for the better with technology, but more about whats wrong with it. And granted I was an adolescent at the time in history that I am referencing, and a lot of change for the better happened without technology, but I think a lot more can be done with it for future generations to benefit from. Just like my generation did .I think it is up to us to write our stories with our machines, which have become extensions of who we are and influence the next generation of what the world will be like. Just like in the Twilight Zone. Im jus sayin Hey,come back! I ll be expecting you.
