In the last semester, we have studied about 'The World Is Flat' which means no barrier, world is leading towards

globalization. But the question here is, Did the World is actually Globalised?? Mr. Pankaj Ghemavat who did his PhD at the age of 19 from IESE Business School says that world is semi globalised. And the factors affecting to globalization are (CAGE): 1. Culture 2. Administration 3. Geography 4. Economy To have any relationship with other country one should know their culture, government regulations, etc. Pankaj Ghemavat invented the term called Rooted Maps in his magazine ' Mckinsey Quarterly' which means map of the world changes with the perspective of the home country. One should concentrate on the language, geography and government regulations of the country before building any relationship. Rooted maps indicates that size and colour of the map changes with the perspective of the home country. We can use rooted maps To understand opportunities. To remap your strategic mind-set? * Understanding the world and measuring distance (Example: Hollywood dominates in American & English Speaking countries). * Clarifying threats (Example: German banks are heavily exposed to PIIGS borrowers & Us banks have much less exposure to Europes problem Loans). * Visualizing global risks ((Example: Libya exports most crude oil to Europe).

Senior executives can make their perceptions of the business environment more accurate.
