201214 Dated 14 August 2012 TO: Loyola Schools Student Body FROM: Ateneo Commission on Elections RE: Extension of Voting Time According to Article VIII Section 1 of the Amended Electoral Code 2011, a. The casting of votes shall begin at 9:00 AM and end at 4:30 PM. Voters can vote only during this period. However, the Ateneo COMELEC has the option to extend the period for voting if the need arises. b. The Ateneo COMELEC can only extend voting hours for a maximum of four (4) hours past the time stated. The election voting time was shortened due to the delayed openings of all voting stations last August 13, 2012. The COMELEC stands for a well-represented student government and therefore it shall provide additional time for voters to discern and cast their votes. The Board of Commissioners have decided to extend the casting of votes on August 15, 2012 up to 6:00 PM.
