Consumer complaint letters are written everyday and most customer service departments are equipped to deal with them every day. However, your assignment is to write a SATIRICAL customer complaint letter. Remember that the goal of satire is to suggest a change AND is meant to be clever and humorous. You will write real letters with the intention of really wanting to suggest a change- change name of company? Name of product? Create a new product? These letters are really trying to get a response in return from the company. You should keep in mind A Modest Proposal and Swifts rhetorical style when crafting these letters. o You must consider: Who will be reading letter? How will you ensure you get a response? What do you need to say? Which appeal will be most successful given what you know about your audience? (ethos, pathos, logos) What must your level of diction be?

We will be using my address to ensure the letters will be sent to one place so please do NOT do a few things: 1. Do not ask for any money or products. 2. Do not send any threats of physical or mental harm. 3. Do not threaten to sue!
