How to Use the Template? 1) Once you save the template to your computer in dot form, you want to open a document based on the template. If you open the dot and begin editing, you are editing the template itself. 2) When you open the document based on the template, enable macros. If you disable the macros, none of the special keystrokes will work. 3) Delete these guidelines when you start working on your file. 4) The easiest way to create a new page is by inserting a page break. 5) Do NOT have an entry in the Table of Contents for every page. You should only have an entry in the Table of Contents for unique block subjects. 6) If you are using a Mac, you will need to push the FN key simultaneously when you push the appropriate F-key. 7) If you are using a Mac, you will likely not be able to use any command from F8 to F12. The only important keystroke you lose is F12 Table of Contents. In order to insert a Table of Contents without the keystroke, go to INSERT > INDEX AND TABLES > TABLE OF CONTENTS > OK (FROM TEMPLATE). How to Cite Appropriately? Full Name Year [Author Qualification], Article Title, Journal Title, Vol. No., Issue No., Month Date. Database. Your Initials. Name of Case Mentor. Example: Barry C. Feld 1995 [Centennial Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota], Violent Youth and Public Policy: A Case Study of Juvenile Justice Law Reform, 79 Minnesota Law Review 965, May 1995. LexisNexis. JA. Sam
