KEYS
Function Keys (F1-F12)
Are located at the topmost part of the keyboard.
Each of these keys has its own function,
depending on the operating system and program
the user is working with.
Function Keys (F1-F12)
Common Functions of Function Keys in Microsoft
Word.
CTRL + F2
It will open a Preview
window and display an
active document.
ALT + CTRL + F2
It will display the Open
Window that will enable the
user to open a document
previously saved.
F3 Opens a Search feature.
SHIFT + F3
Change the text from lowercase to uppercase or vice
versa.
If the word next to the cursor or if the highlighted word is
in small letters, only the first is capitalized.
If the beginning letter of a word is already in capital
it will make all letters in the word capital.
If the word is in uppercase, the word will be
changed to lowercase.
F4 Is used to open Find Window.
CTRL + SHIFT + F6
Will display other open MS Word
documents.
F7 Is used to open spell and grammar check.
SHIFT + F7
The Thesaurus
dictionary is opened.
F8 Open the Windows Startup Menu.

SHIFT + F10
To right click on a highlighted word, icon, or
file.
F1 Is not applicable to MS Word, but in other
1 program it is used to display a running program
to a full screen mode.
F1 Opens the Saves as Window.
2 Saves a document.
SHIFT + F12
CTRL + SHIFT + F12
Opens a Print window and prints a document.
Upper Keys
Are characters located above the numbers in the
alphanumeric keypad.
They are !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (.),_,+. Typing any of
these characters should be aided by Shift key.
SHIFT + 4
Encodes the dollar sign ($).
Other Keys
1. INSERT
activates the keyboard to go on ON or OFF
Mode.
2. DELETE
erases a character to the right of the
cursor.

3. END
moves the cursor to the end of the line.
4. HOME
moves the cursor at the beginning of the line.
Other Keys
5. PAGE UP
Scrolls down the screen one page and
displays the previous page.
6. PAGE
DOWN Scrolls up the screen one page and displays
the next page.
Other Keys
7. ARROW KEYS move the cursor up,down,left
or right.
Press to move the cursor one step to the right.
