LEVEL: 8 -11 years old UNIT / SESSION: Art/ Czech

OBJECTIVE: Making things from waste material

VOCABULARY: fabric, knitting wool, paper, needle, skewers, wrap, stick, nylon stocking

MATERIALS: clippings of fabric, remains of colored knitting wool, cotton, a paper tube, 3 skewers, thread, 1old nylon stocking, needle .

OPENING ACTIVITIES. A story about a sad witch. The heavy rain destroyed her small garden with magic flowers. However the witch isnt rich, we must use some waste materials for making new flowers.

MAIN ACTIVITIES 1. Flower pot Wrap a paper tube in some clippins of fabric or paper. Stick a larger papers cycle on the tube as a botton. 2. Flower sten put some cotton into the nylon stocking and we make a ball. Stick 3 skewers into the cotton ball and tie it with green wool. Wrap the skewers in the green wool. 3. Flower wrap the wool round your fingersseveral times. Sew this roll on the cotton ball.Do it as long till you can create a flower.

CLOSING ACTIVITIES The magic flowers are put into the flower pot. Each pupil devices the name of his/her magic flower and its magic.

REINFORCEMENT AND EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

All pupils can devise the name of the witch, her name of the witch. The can write a short story, poem, about her, her pets, her garden. They can paint it.
