2012-13, INFO SHEET

Dear Parents and students, 8/23/12 The Milton City Singers choral group is accepting permission slips to participate in the 2012-2013 chorus. If you attend Hobbs or King MS and are interested in joining the chorus please fill out a permission slip and turn it into your schools front office by August 31. We will only accept the first 60 permission slips. After 60, we will compile a waiting list. Before signing the permission slip please consider the following rules and expectations set forth by the group. Please note that there are many changes this year due to the school district of SRC taking over the program. Chorus will meet at Bagdad Elementary every Thursday (school days) in the music room and begin promptly at 3pm. 2 buses will transport the students to Bagdad. Parents are responsible for arranging transportation home. Students must be picked-up promptly at 4:30 on the parent pick-up ramp at Bagdad Elementary. REHEARSAL PROCEEDURES

1. BE ON TIME AND READY TO BEGIN REHEARSAL AT 3PM. A. Be in your assigned seat with music folder, sharpened pencil and water bottle before 3pm. B. Fill water bottle before rehearsal. If the bottle requires filling, it must be filled at the water fountain around the corner from the music room.

2. BE PREPARED FOR REHEARSALS.


A. Bring chorus folder with sharpened pencils, paper and water bottle at every rehearsal. B. Utilize the restrooms before or after rehearsal.

3. RESPECT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING.


A. Keep inappropriate comments to your-self. B. Respect the Bagdad Elementary school property, building and grounds. We are guests at this school and we should show our appreciation through keeping thing nice. C. DO NOT touch classroom equipment without teacher permission; This includes but is not limited to piano, instruments and sound system. D. Students much remain quiet and attentive even when they are not singing.

It is better to try and fail.Than to fail to try.
CHORAL EXPECTATIONS

COMMITMENT: All chorus members are expected to make a full year commitment to the group. Be on time and do not leave early. ATTENDANCE/REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES: Attend all chorus rehearsals on Thursdays, perform in all performances. UNIFORM: Choral students must wear the chorus uniform to every performance. Girls: New Black dress. Rental- $20, Purchase- $55. Boys: Black tux pants, white tux shirt, black vest and black tie: Rental- $20. Not available for purchase at this time. Girls and boys must wear black dress shoes which are not included in the rental or purchase cost.
