UC Berkeley Undocumented AB540 Ally Training Project Sticker Design Contest

Call Out for Creative Designs: UC Berkeley AB540 Ally Sticker Contest
History, Mission & Vision: This contest is in connection with a training program being developed for UC Berkeley staff/faculty. Starting the Spring 2013 semester, a training program will be offered each semester and will allow for campus staff/faculty to be educated about AB540 undocumented student realities. We hope for staff/faculty members to leave this training with an understanding of the history, legislation, and current/future realities of this student community. We plan to use this Staff/Faculty Training Program as a pathway for faculty/staff to receive an ally sticker to then display in their offices. Upon completing the Training Program, Berkeley Staff/Faculty will sign a pledge committing their support of undocumented AB540 students, and will be issued an ally sticker to signify this commitment. In addition, this sticker will also be used by staff/faculty who have long been supportive of this student population, so as to let incoming students know that there is existing support. Based on information gathered from other college campuses, for students, seeing a sticker of this kind has been very powerful. Our hope is that undocumented students will see these stickers and feel safe about asking for support specifically tailored to their unique realities and challenges as UC Berkeley students. Eligibility: As this sticker will specifically be utilized on the Berkeley campus and because the scholarship/award will be distributed through the UC Berkeley Financial Aid Office, this contest is restricted current Undocumented/AB540 UC Berkeley students.
