ALLOWANCES & BENEFITS: The selected candidates will be paid consolidated Stipend consisting of Basic Pay of Rs. 7300/- plus Dearness Allowance (on Basic Pay + Dearness Pay) as applicable in first quarter of the year, 2010 per month during the training period of one year. On successful completion of training, they will be placed at S1 level in the Pay Scale of Rs. 7300-3.5%-12660/- (Due for upward revision from 01/01/2007). SELECTION PROCESS: The eligible candidates will be required to undergo a Written Test at Shimla. The test will be in two parts, Part-I will consist of multiple-choice questions of the relevant technical discipline and Part-II will consist of multiple-choice questions on Aptitude Test, except for Official Language, for which the Test will include both Objectives and Descriptive Type Questions. Based on the requirement the qualifying candidates will be informed separately to appear for Personal Interview before the Companys Central Selection Board. RESERVATION, RELAXATIONS & CONCESSIONS SERVICEMEN AND J&K CANDIDATES: FOR SC/ST/PH/OBC, EX-

Reservation in the above posts (tentative) would be as per the Govt. of India guidelines.

Relaxation & Concession for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged: i. Upper age is relaxable by of 5 years for SC/ST. ii. For Physically Challenged, upper age is relaxable by 10 years for General Category, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST category. iii. For SC/ST/Physically Challenged, no application fee is payable and they must enclose a copy of certificate in proof of belonging to SC/ST & Physically Challenged category from competent authority in the format prescribed by the Govt. of India. iv. All SC/ST and Physically Challenged candidates with aggregate marks of 50% in prescribed qualification are eligible to apply. Concession for OBC (Non Creamy Layer): Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years provided a copy of certificate of not belonging to Creamy Layer in the format prescribed by Govt. of India from a competent authority issued in the current year is enclosed with the application. The OBC candidates who belong to Creamy Layer are not entitled for OBC concession. Concession for J&K candidates: Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89. Ex-Servicemen: 10% of posts would be reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be as per rules. GENERAL CONDITIONS: 1. 2. Result awaited candidates need not apply. Applications that are not in conformity with the requirements indicated in this advertisement will not be entertained. Persons working under Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should submit their application through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy of the application along with requisite enclosures. Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected. No correspondence regarding the candidature would be entertained. The candidates applying should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions. Their admission at all the stages of the written test/interview will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of admission certificate/interview call letter to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by SJVN. SJVN will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents at the time of Personal Interview. In case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature shall be rejected/cancelled without assigning any reason, thereof. Similarly, even after joining, if it is found that he/she has furnished any incorrect information or suppressed any material information, his/her services shall be summarily terminated. The decision of the SJVN as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the Written test/Interview shall be final.

While filling in application form, the candidate should carefully decide about his choice for the discipline for the written test. More than one application from a candidate giving different disciplines will not be accepted in any case. Even if a candidate sends more than one completed application the SJVN will accept only one application at their discretion and the SJVNs decision in the matter shall be final. Only Indian Nationals need apply. Applications received after the closing date shall neither be entertained nor returned. The certificates in any other language except English and Hindi should invariably be accompanied by certified translated copy in Hindi or English. The management reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or consider for higher/lower post or not to fill up any of the posts or raise the minimum eligibility standards / or relax age / experience or any other criteria in otherwise suitable cases and also cancel candidature of any candidate / or cancel recruitment process without assigning any reason. Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be called for Interview/Written Test. Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Shimla and courts/tribunals/forums at Shimla only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such cause/dispute.
