What is Stealth Technology?

Stealth technology also known as LO technology (low observable technology). Stealth is an important technology which is used in military operations. Stealth is a technique by which we can make any object invisible (i.e. to a radar). It is similar to the camouflage techniques used by soldiers in war.

The first true "stealth" aircraft was developed in Germany during the last years of WWII. First stealth aircraft was F1-17. This technique has also been used in ships as we can see in the figure.

The object can be shaped so that any radar signals it reflects are reflected away from the radar equipment. The object can be covered in materials that absorb radar signals.

When we are using normal shape

While we use Stealth Technology

Nanostructural composite material, absorbing without reflection radar wave.

This new material is based on nanotechnology.

Carbon fiber composites Magnetic ferrite-based substance

RAM reduces the radar cross section making the object appear smaller.

Reduce the causality rate during the war. Maintaining an upper hand over a war. Secret surveillance can be done.

Bluff the detecting devices used by the enemy.

Cost is equivalent to its own weight in gold.

Electromagnetic emissions are high from a stealth aircraft.

Cost of maintenance is high.

Stealth aircrafts have a very sensitive skin.

Stealth aircrafts cannot fly fast.
