    This circuit uses three AAA batteries to power a microphone preamplifier circuit using an LM158 or LM358 operational amplifier. The circuit provides adjustable gain up to 4000x for a mini condenser microphone from RadioShack. Care must be taken to adjust the gain to avoid signal distortion from too high of an amplification level.     The circuit below is a complete circuit for use as a powerful microphone amplifier with a gain of up to 4000.
